Chris had an Eagle on the Par 5 13th, his 4th hole. Played 4-7 5 Under.

On the Par 5 3rd, his 12th hole, he missed a sharp breaking 8 footer for a 2nd Eagle by maybe 2 inches.

Very streaky player.. Great when he’s on..

I’d like to see him play more consistent this year. He’s got the talent

@WhiteBus

Do you remember last summer talking about Gotterup's issues approaching the Green and how it was holding him back

During the preshow Chamblee and crew were talking about how that was a big problem in '25. Said he was something like #140 on Tour and now it looks like he's greatly improved.

You want to ring up the GC and tell em we're available for the right price?
I'm wondering if Chamblee is reading TKR and getting our great analysis? LOL!
The biggest improvement from Chris in the middle of last year wasn't a swing adjustment, it was his mental approach and he admitted it to Golf Channel's Ryan Lavner yesterday. Ryan asked him "after missing two cuts in the Waste Management what did he figure out on how to attack this course" Chris's response was perfect. "I think not attacking as much .." That was music to my ears! It's great to hear Gotterup talk about round management!!

What were ya drinking? Is it true they throw you out if your BAC isn't at least .12?

I imagine the difficulty with 16 is knowing the crowd is going to ride you mercilessly if you screw up.
It was pretty high. They have bars everywhere there. The amount of hot girls there was off the charts. One of the best sporting events you will ever go to. Better than the Super Bowl.

Props to Gotterup. Not only for playing well, but he's been in contact with Keli and is going to help the program as much as he ca

Note sure what you're looking at but he has not missed a cut in last 14 starts including 6 top 10s (with 2 wins). He figured it out middle of last year.

As someone who's followed Chris closely since he was at RU, I'd have to say he's somewhat streaky.

His time on tour has had huge highs and lows. He does run hot and cold, sometimes in the same round. As they just said on the broadcast, he hit every fairway 1-10 and missed every fairway 11-18 yesterday.

He's a good putter and very good chipper and Bunker player but he needs to improve his accuracy off the tee and approach to Greens.

Gotterup has ruined my 12 year old. After watching him in person last week, we played golf this afternoon and 7 times he asked “can I go DOD?” He hit one decent shot and said “I think this is my new move.” 🤦🏻‍♂️

Strong finish with 5 birdies in last 6 holes to finish 7-under on the day. But one shot behind Matsuyama, who has 17 & 18 to play still. Will need a bogey from Hideki along the way to get into a playoff.

Hideki bogeys 18, so it’s gonna be a Gotterup/Matsuyama playoff — pushing up against the start of the Super Bowl.

So great for CG! First and last rounds terrific and a great finish yesterday. Have zero interest in the Super Bowl and this was my biggest sporting event of 2026. Keep it going Chris! Go RU!

Overcame some really poor iron play Fri and Sat but kept battling. His Back 9, despite a tee shot in the water on 12, was a thing of beauty.

19 holes today, 10 Birdies including 17 and 18 (twice). His 2nd on 18 in regulation where from the rough 133 yds out, he put the ball 2 feet from the cup was spectacular. What they didn't show or mention was he got a drop because his wayward drive put him up against the grandstand.

The Tour needs to come down hard on the idiots yelling during backswings. An A-Hole Tic Toc Influencer named Jack Daugherty, paid a guy $100 to yell during a players backswing Fri or Sat, solely for "content"on his channel. He's known for pulling crap all over the US.

Chris was so clutch coming down the stretch. Birdies 5 of last 6 holes and then birdies the playoff hole for 6of 7.

I saw a report that on the playoff hole where Matsuyama stopped his swing (very difficult thing to do!), it was a security guard or worker that accidentally dropped a folding chair. I couldn't totally make out the sound, but it may have been that. I believe I also heard someone say "Sorry".

Awesome 2nd win this year - missed most of yesterday being at a Super Bowl party.

Yeah, sounded like something was dropped. Daugherty was earlier in the event. He's a little punk who goes around causing trouble. He gets away with most because he travels with a huge, and I mean huge, former pro boxer bodyguard.

Yah, that's the little Punk. You can see his bodyguard behind him. You also get a look into these social media people who make it all about them and screw everyone.

I had seen him in a vid where he's walking thru a mall where he elbows poeple as he passes by. When the people say something his bodyguard jumps in to protect him.

Didn’t even know who this dork was until seeing this interaction. This is my favorite Jack Doherty video. Only a matter of time where this douche nozzle gets cracked or worse. You can see his body guard know he was out matched.

Anyone ever play Pebble or Spyglass, the two courses they are using this week for the Pro-Am?

I had one "shot" at Pebble about 15 years ago where I had to be out there for work and had a free day. I checked and they had a spot for a single, but I ended up not tasking it. The ridiculous greens fee wasn't the entire issue, but it was the end of February and I hadn't touched my clubs yet so I didn't feel right about jumping on there.

Yeah... I kind of regret it.

Played them both. Not gonna make you feel better - yeah you should have taken that single spot. Spyglass is great but Pebble is the greatest!

Ive played both, along with some others. Pebble is good. I didn't love Spy Glass. A lot of people do though. It's a pilgrimage you must make if you golf though. The entire town is into it.

On Golf Channel today Chris said Spyglass is a great course BUT if he was only going to play 1 last round in his life, it'd be Pebble.

People love Pebble but I didn’t think it was that great. I’ve played a few course I thought were better. Like surfing, all personal preference of what sort of tracks you like. They are all different. The scene around Pebble is what makes it all great to me.
