Big wow by Dabo. Said no to A&M but yes to Clemson. Riley will probably get more autonomy at Clemson than A&M. He’ll also come out from under Dykes’ shadow.

I've been wondering when he might take that step up whether it was OSU or somewhere.. Last step before HC somewhere if he does well. Could even be OSU itself, if Day ever left to the NFL.

I'm guessing Saban wants a change at DC and Ole Miss is providing a landing spot. I guess Chris Partridge is out.

edit: Maybe not, this makes it sound like Alabama tried to keep him. I figured Alabama could hold on to whomever they wanted but I guess not.

From the article:

Ole Miss and Kiffin spent the past week wooing Golding, who had been offered a raise to remain at Alabama, sources told FootballScoop.

Golding is set to receive a three-year deal worth more than $2 million per year, per sources.

I was just going to post that article
I read being a little too public with his plans to Thailand and turning down job opportunities could affect KK’s buyout. As often with these contract, there’s the understanding of good faith efforts to seek other employment for offsets.

I don’t watch the NFL anymore but when I did Bidwill was an owner known for being on the cheaper side. I don’t know if his son is the same or not. I tend to think it wouldn’t be a problem and he wouldn’t be so vindictive but nothing is 100%.

Kendal would be a pretty good replacement for Riley, if TCU can make it happen. Briles turned down Miss St to stay at Ark but a return to Texas might be enticing for him.

Anything that hurts University of Maryland helps us. Wonder who they will go after?
I don't know if it's that big a loss for Maryland and for Arkansas I think a step down from Briles. He's been an okay OC at best and some years were bad. He's in that pro style mode too.

I'm not sure where Maryland would go.

Really? They looked pretty solid this year. Maybe it was growth and development of Taulia?

They were the 55th ranked offense last year and in the mid 60s in YPP and scoring. They averaged like 28.2 pts/gm. That's okay IMO but nothing special either. He's had points in his career that were somewhat better 30s or so and points a lot worse like in the 90s and 100s.

Many Terps fans (myself included) feel this is addition by subtraction.

Don't get me wrong: Enos wasn't horrible but his playcalling left a lot to be desired

His in-game "feel" was lacking.

Offense was good but should have been much better.

Another reason why I'm not sweating it much is that the offensive system will remain the same...perhaps with a few tweaks of course.

Fine, you and @rutgersguy1 can be BFFs. He used to be so agreeable. 😂 I may be wrong on this point, but it seemed from eyeballs and rankings that Maryland had much more talent on at least the offensive side of the ball than Rutgers did.

RU and Maryland are good measuring sticks for each other since we both came into the conference at the same time and we both had two bad coaches during the early years in the B1G. I used to think that Locksley was going to bomb. Maybe he eventually will, but he seems to do a good job recruiting (or at least he has coaches on the staff who are good at recruiting. I'm usually not a grass is greener type of fan, but Maryland seems to have at least inched ahead of Rutgers.

Must be nice to have an OC whose playcalling leaves a lot to be desired but whose offense slaps up 28 points a game.

Saban Halfway House definitely does the trick.

For sure. I was serious. If not as OC, go there as an analyst for a rehab assignment as an analyst.

Sarkisian went back as an analyst first, and came back as OC in 2021.
Butch Jones went there before going on to be a HC at Arkansas State. He is not doing so well.
Mike Stoops stopped there before becoming a DC at FAU
Major Applewhite pit stopped at 'bama before becoming OC at South Alabama
Charlie Strong did a stint, now co-DC at Miami
Lane Kiffin

Interesting thing is most of these coaches are older. Wonder if a younger guy like Gleeson would consider doing this to get his career back on track. He may be content collecting his paycheck and may wish to stay local at Princeton or somewhere else instead of trying to make it as a big time coordinator.
