I don’t follow the NFL at all but was reading Kingsbury is on a hot seat in Arizona. I’ve liked him before we fired Ash even. At least in college, the man knows offense and has a very good knack of identifying qbs that work in his system.

Biggest flaw imo was no defense. If he got a good DC and paid some attention to that side of the ball I think he’d be okay.

I wonder if the ASU job might not be a fit for him and them should he get let go. See if you can attract the Cuse DC over who coached for a bit of time at ASU. That kind of combo might have a chance at working. Maybe a Justin Leonhard too if Wisconsin doesn’t retain him.

Deion’s name pops up for that one too. The thinking is he can recruit on the level of Saban and Smart and Harsin isn’t up to the challenge.

I think ASU would be a good spot for Deion. Recruit like crazy there and barrier to entry for recruits is easier than say a GT and it’s easier competition than Auburn.

I saw the 60 minutes bit on "Coach Prime" and he said he would have to consider a P5 team
Considering he's already getting top 5* recruits I think he would be a real challenge to the usual top 6 programs
Sanders is a "force."
His team is undefeated and he was still all over them
That's exactly the reverse of Greg who lets the team slide when it does well and starts getting bouquets in media
If Prime was RU coach after L'ville there would have been no loss to Cincy

I liked that he consulted Leach for an OC and also consulted his DC that he could keep up with that tempo and style of offense.

Word is that Kliff absolutely detested recruiting.

Don’t most coaches lol. If he can stick on in the NFL well maybe he stays there. If he can’t, then he’ll have no choice if he wants to coach.

With portal, you might have to recruit less with the flash and kissing up and more just this is how you fit here. Transfer players are more about playing time and fit than bells and whistles etc.

Healy was a little bit of a darling at one time. One day you’re the windshield, next day the bug.

Did you realize that Pete Rossomando, was the Rutgers OL coach in 2019? This is a great opportunity for him. He has quite a resume at lower levels:

"He comes to Charlotte from Vanderbilt, where he spent the 2020 season as offensive line coach. He was offensive line coach at Rutgers in 2019.

FCS COACH OF THE YEAR FINALIST AT CENTRAL CONNECTICUT STATE
Prior to Rutgers, he served as head coach for five years at Central Connecticut State from 2014-18.

In 2017, after leading the Blue Devils to the school’s first NCAA Division I FCS playoff appearance, he was named the Northeast Conference Coach of the Year and was a finalist for the Eddie Robinson FCS Coach of the Year"

42-13/33-8 as Head Coach at New Haven. He did not have as much success at Central Connecticut State, but he took a floundering program, and in year 3, he had CC at 8-4/6-0 with an appearance in the NCAA Division I first round.

Healy had Charlotte bowling his first year, but he could not replicate that success in the three years that followed.

I did recognize the last name but didn’t remember what position or if it was the same person.

Well, that's why we will make great co-ADs in the future. 😉 Pete is a Staten Island guy, played at Port Richmond HS. Maybe @OntheBanks is familiar with his background?
Before Pete came to RU I had never heard of him. Maybe because I pay as much attention to Staten Island football as I do the Wagner Women's Water Polo team. (And yes they do play Water Polo).

Well, you piqued (not peaked or peakid (LOL) my interest in the Wagner Women's Water Polo team.

Quite a diverse group- Australia, Turkey, Spain, Canada and US- there are more non-US players than US players.

Harsin was gone before he ever coached a game at Auburn lol. They didn't want him and have made his life miserable right from the start.

Fisher too big a buyout even for A&M.

Hafley don't know.

Scott maybe, I've seen talk of that.

Neal Brown has 20M left, not sure WVU would pay that out.

Sarkisian has a Manning on the way and a NIL recruiting class so they probably stick with him.

Venables just started so not happening.

I think Allen's buyout is a little too steep too.

Drinkwitz, I don't know.

I could see Harsin going back to the Pacific Northwest/Idaho area.

Some of those on the hot seat have good offensive backgrounds, and perhaps, they might consider an OC position- Brown, Drinkwitz and Jeff Scott, who was Co-OC at Clemson- not sure if he called plays though.

Satterfield at Louisville is another name on the hot seat depending on how well he finishes the year.

Came across this tweet, wonder if anyone in the P5 will give Freeze a shot.

tweet:
Hugh Freeze is 33-12 at Liberty and 27-7 in his last 34 games there. Just whipped BYU 41-14 while down 13 players, including QB Kaidon Salter who has been out for a while.

Arkansas up next for Liberty. A win against Arkansas by Liberty will give a lot of AD’s looking to make a head coach hire Hugh Freeze amnesia.

Aranda to Nebraska? LOL.

I’ve seen his name just thrown out there but don’t know how serious it is. He supposedly likes it at Baylor.

I’d go for Rhule if I’m them. He chose Baylor over Oregon so who knows if he wouldn’t choose Nebraska as well over whatever other jobs are open. Of course it depends on whether he wants to coach next year. Supposedly people close to him from his time at Baylor said his personality is one that would want to get back into it. Fran Brown’s son was offered a schollie there too. No clue if that’s just coincidence or harbinger of anything. Brown was an assistant for him at Temple and Baylor.

Not on the carousel, but just dropped a note on Dave Doeren at NC State, who is not setting the world on fire, but doing well-he's making $3.25 million in his 10th year as HC. 🤷‍♂️

Guess Liberty does not care about the alleged calling hookers from the coach's office at his previous stop? Might be a place for @mildone to check out.

He just got bumped up to 5M this past offseason. He’s flirted with jobs but always ends up coming back. Like I say if they want to go, let them. More times than not you’re not losing the next Saban.

These are jobs that pay millions of dollars and there are only so many of them. These ADs have more leverage than they think with agents. They just let themselves get steamrolled or have too much OPM syndrome. If they leave then do your job and find another suitable replacement.

Christianity doctrine includes salvation. Philanderers included. Gamblers already OK by NCAA standards.

Christianity doctrine includes salvation.
winning does save a lot of coaches and ones that have sinned will be hired when wins are needed.
That's the saving grace christian sports programs tend to provide coaches that have fallen from right path in the quest for victory ( but won big doing it that way)
Of course athiest programs will do that as well for winners caught breaking the rules and given a time out, but say when hiring that coach: "lesson learned and rehabilitated "

I’d think he d have to do something in between to get rid of the Auburn on him. It was a bad situation right from the start but I don’t know if ADs looking to hire will forgive the circumstances.

Dan Hawkins was the other Boise coach that didn’t work at Colorado.
