What are the chances they dont score anyway? Even our hitters could probably cash at least one in here.

I'm putting this on the hitters. 6 hits in 14 innings and basically no runs because it was the pitcher who prevented them from going scoreless for 14. Basically they choked tonight. Even with the multitude of chances. Stop choking against this damn team!

Wasted chances. Conforto. Rosario. Altherr. Especially Conforto. He had hanging curves to hit a fly ball. Shame. Guess you cant win them all or catch every break.

So I looked at the Mets 40 man roster today - not sure why but I did.
Do you know there are no position players on their 40 man?

All pitchers from 26 to 40...so i guess what is on the bench is what their running with...think that is a bit of a gamble.

After August 31st - that's it you can't add anyone for the playoffs - just think that is kinda weird.
imo

They'll be adding McNeil, Nimmo, and Lowrie. Those are pretty significant additions. EDIT: And maybe Dom Smith too.

The only redeeming feature is that we play them again tomorrow, and they blew out their pen too. Really need length out of Wheeler tomorrow.
These games happen, let's hope it isn't a trend and the bats wake up again. But we are going to lose a few games along the way.
So, here are my positives from the night. 1) Good F-ing thing Met's got smart and signed deGrom before the season. If he hit FA after back to back years like this- no way would we keep him 2) We didn't get timely hits last night but had tons of opps to win this game. Why is that a positive? As long as it isn't a trend but we did have all of those chances, let's hope this just happened to be a one-off game and we cash in one of those 4 out of 5 times. And I think we do. 3) The BP has suddenly become a strength and it couldnt be at a better time. Even JF- very hard to hold it aginst him with 3 games in a row.
Anyway- in it's own way- that was a classic and a shame we lost. Need Wheeler and Stroman to join deGrom/Matz/Thor in throwing gems. Wheeler needs to give us at least 7 today and hopefully if he is going strong- MC keeps him in a little longer (doesn't pull a Matz move)

McNeil!!! We need you back buddy!

Losing stinks. Entrenched in can’t get any closer than 2 games back mode.

You're not catching them. I'm more invested in trying to catch you.

You have the same chance to catch us as we do to catch the Braves. And I think you can catch us. After tomorrow @Chi we have 5 at home v Baltimore and Miami. We can catch them. Longshot, but we can. 20% chance.

Man these at-bats with a gimme run at 3rd base and less than 2 outs are a killer. By middle of the lineup guys. In the meantime we get hurt by Francisco .193 Cervelli.

Wheeler stinking up the joint as he’s done last 2 starts. Mets bats silent like last night. Why isn’t McNeil playing? Should have signed cervelli. Can’t beat the Braves as usual even with a depleted line up

Big game Zach stepping up. Dont see any signs of the hitters producing either. Gibson last night, Koufax tonight.

Once again, Wheeler was pitching better when he thought he was getting traded

This game has no juice. Atmosphere is nothing like the Nats series. Wheeler took care of that. And its almost like the fans are conditioned to them losing to this team so there's not much in the way of confidence.

I’m at game and you’re 100% correct. No juice with crowd. Complete opposite of nats series and even Indians series as I was at Tuesday game
