Certainly the country would have been a lot different if Kennedy had served Out either his full term or two terms. Kennedy might not have been able to get Great Society programs through Congress like Johnson could and who knows how Kennedy would have handled or led our efforts in Vietnam. Alternative history buffs could have a field day with that.

He was also having an affair with a German spy, wonder how that would have turned out.

I was in gym class, my senior year of HS.

Our PE instructor / coach of some sport (not football), called us all into the basketball courts, sat us down and began weeping.

The ride home on the bus was silent...no one was saying anything.

I remember going out with two friends that evening to a bowling alley in West Orange....and we were told to hurry up because the alley's were closing @ 9.

The gravity of the situation was more than I could comprehend or bare. The constant running of historical films about the Kennedys...and then the subsequent killing of Oswald on live TV was like time had stopped / then sped up into warp speed.

I think the the NFL's decision to play the Giants- Cardinals game was wrong (both then / now)...

Last, after my 2nd divorce I remember going to a party and spotting a pretty, busty, brunette. I asked her "where were you when President Kennedy was assassinated?". She said "in my mother's womb, I wasn't born until 3 months later". I decided to PASS on that episode...there has to be more than boobs and a face (i.e. conversation)....and I didn't want to have to educate her on the Beatles, Stones, Beach Boys, Wooodstock, Moon Landing, Viet Nam...etc.

Suprised no discussion on this anniversary of the JFK assassination. I always wondered how LHO got out of the TSBD and on a bus, then a cab. Not much talk about his movements right after the assassination. Seems like he shot JFK, then the next moment he's in Oak Cliff shooting the cop. How did he get out of the building and immediate area without suspicion?

To add to what some have previously stated, the building was not sealed off. My guess is that that would be SOP today. He was an employee, so it's not like a stranger was leaving the building

There have been questions since 1963.

Simplest answer is no one inside the building immediately knew what happened and there was so much confusion outside he was able to leave pretty much without notice.

As to the bus, he walked several blocks away from the Plaza I assume so he wouldn't be identified as someone seen taking public transportation out the immediate area. I also assume he took a cab from the bus stop to the rooming house for a similar reason.

After that it get's sketchy. Goes to the apt he and his wife had, runs into Tippett and shoots him (why?) After that he was seen trying to hide in stores and the theatre where he was eventually arrested.

Of course then we get to Jack Ruby.

Do I think he acted alone? If I had to answer, I'd say unlikely. Will it ever be proved? Not likely.
