So how things change and how they stay the same. I joined this board 10 years ago today after a long time of lurking. Steve Pederen was on his way out, thus my name "newAD". Too bad I was stupid and wrote it like an email address with no spaces, and didn't capatialze the N. Must have been drinking?

So here we are 10 years later and we need another AD. Ironic.

I've never officially met anyone who has or does post on here. There's a lot of "old guard" guys I wish still did post on here. That group of guys that all seemed to know each other and Sparky (and wish he chimed in more often). I keep hoping some will come back. Thankfully we've had some good posters come along within the last 10 years.

I've tried (haven't succeeded always) in being cordial even if I disagreed with people. I did type STFU one to someone, and I once got a bad boy message from Sparky, so I'm not perfect. But I try to have fun.

This board used to "celebrate" big posts, like a persons 10,000 post. I'm not there yet, but it seems posters stop posting before they can reach monumental numbers any more. Kind of sad.

We're 20 years past glory, and 16 years past being relevant yearly. We're 8 years past being just a flat out scary defense. Were just not very good.

We all want Nebraska to be great again, but right now, I'd settle for really good. It's going to take time IMO. I posted earlier this summer that people had better be ready for the possibility of 7-5 this season and now I really hoping for 7-5.

Our fan base is divided. I get that and understand, but I hope everyone can keep their heads and not let this board degrade in the upcoming months/years, as the future is certainly unsure.

Hopefully on October 14, 2027 we can all look back and laugh at what we as fans endured.

Here's to 10 more. GBR!

You know the more I think about the fan base being divided, the more and more I realize we aren't. We all want us to win, and we all just have different opinions on how to get wins. If we win, we all celebrate together. If we lose we all think about ideas to get us winning again.

I'd bet my left nut that 98% of us would be okay with Riley staying if he wins out. I bet 98% of us will want Riley let go if he goes 5-7 or worse. I bet we will be 50/50 if he goes 7-5. Because guess what that is an average season with a lot of question marks. Does that mean we are divided? I don't think so, because we all want the same thing in the end.

Yeah, that's a good point. Losing and looking like a bucket of dog-sh*t just doesn't make most people here real happy.

Congratulations on 10 years!

I joined on the day “Black 41 Flash Reverse” was ran, less than a month before the the beginning of the end, in Boulder. Currently on coach 4. The fan base was split the following year. It further split with Callahan...and continued to split over Pelini... and now of course with Riley. I wonder if portions of other fanbases remain salty about a coach being let go, for decades, as ours does?

Thanks for posting all these years. I also been here since 2003, when solich was fired. I've been disciplined by the mods several times for being too critical of. BC BO and Riley. I can tell early on we don't hire winners and voice my opinion. In the real world, business, nfl, ect. That's highly competitive, they are quick to fire non perormers. I am so bullish on FROST. I think it's insane to give Riley 20 years being a below ave coach.

Congrats on 10 years. I always liked your sigpic. One thing to think about. In a free country have we ever not been "divided? Maybe not during WWII after being attacked. But it is in vogue right now to think everybody is divided. People in my volunteer group talk in hushed voices about our group being "divided". Maybe what was considered in the past people having different opinions from us they were entitled to, is now considered being "divided".
