OSU kick-off time

Looking at the top 25 schedule for October 3rd, the only decent matchup is Washington @ USC which will not be a Noon EST / 9AM PST game.

Hoping Fox picks the Texas Tech @ Colorado matchup for Big Noon and leave the Hawks for the NBC primetime slot or at least the. CBS mid-afternoon slot.

Gemini says CBS has first pick for that weekend but the source is weak and prior week @Michigan is already scheduled for CBS. Me thinks Iowa will get hosed and Big Noon comes to Iowa City. A rowdy, drunken fan base at night would certainly help. 11am games suck for energy.

I think you’re out of your f’ing mind if you think an 11am kickoff would mean low energy crowd for Ohio St.

This very concept is way overblown year after year. I think people still associate 11am kickoffs with nonconference games against overwhelmed MAC teams or inconsequential B1G games that were relegated to BTN. Of course those games didn’t have the energy of big-time matchups. Any Hawkeye fans that don’t want to be up for Ohio St should sell their tickets to someone who will.

Totally agree. 2002 was almost entirely 11 am games road or away. Almost every week was played at the time slot with Bob Davie and Mark Jones on ESPN. Crowds seemed just fine that year....

I looked it up for fun. They lost to Iowa State in a 5 pm start, played Utah state at 2:30, and Miami of ohio at 11 am. The ENTIRE big Ten schedule was 11 am that year.

I don't see any way this ends up a night game.....not with a west coast trip to Seattle for a Friday game the next week. My guess is CBS, with the first pick, ends up picking us for the 2:30 slot. If we beat Michigan, I wouldn't be surprised if both Big Noon and Gameday end up in Iowa City for their shows. The pickings are pretty slim otherwise for that week.
