That was such a great effort. If one of the early field goals was a TD or if you get that late 1st down the outcome would have been different. Was a game of inches literally.
That was a great game.

Why the f is this on our boards?

Would you post this to cuse? Pitt? Wvu? Uconn? Nope.

These are our rivals now. Time to start acting like it.

This. And um... Its ohio state, an elite tier program. Its not like if Memphis made the semi finals and then lost a close one.

Ohio St is here regularly.

Agreed. Game thread is one thing. Local advertising/worship thread is another. Take it over to their board if you want to ......... STD.

not to mention like they need somebody from Rutgers to give them a hug lol.

I’m hoping that this loss and the lackluster first half of the B1G championship game are some of the first signs that OSU hired the wrong head coach and has been drafting off of Urban Meyer all year.

CFB is all about talent.
Clemson is going to get six 5 stars next year. That is like New York Jets getting six first round picks.
Coaches are way way way overrated in college.
That's why Saban could not make it in the NFL.
That's why Schiano could not make it in the NFL.
That's why Jimmy Johnson and Bill Walsh were great coaches.

OSU got jobbed by the officials. This game was stolen. I can't believe there wasn't more of a media uproar about it.

RU fans can relate to this very much since we had two BE titles and BCS bowl bids stolen from us by blown calls by the refs - the no-call on the fumble at WVU (2006) and the recalled TD due to a penalty that didn't happen against UL (2012). So I have no problem with the OP on this.

I’m diggin the “Tiger Bowl”...the winner should be allowed to use the name Death Valley next season; the loser should not.

Actually the real difference is that in college you can recruit all your players, which allows you to build your roster, while in the NFL you have to rely on a GM and the draft. Take a look at the NFL rosters of the coaches you cited and you’ll see the difference.

And OSU didn't have talent? Or Alabama last year? All the top teams have tons of talent but how does performance get differentiated between that talent...it's coaching, development and system.

I've said it a million times that I see it as a pyramid with tiers of simlar talent getting wider as you go down the pyramid. How do you differentiate between schools with similar talent? Coaching, development and system IMO.

Just recently I gave the example of FSU's OL and how it's been bad since Fisher's days. It's still pretty bad but when Briles came in as OC they improved quite a bit on offense not great but better than before about 40 spots. Or Harell at USC...they recruit tons of talent every year til recently but in their pro style 80/90s last year rankings this year 30s/17 in the rankings and with injuries to the qb position and a true freshman leading the way. LSU this year...Burrow/Ensminger and that group is just about the same as last year...Joe Brady comes in and changes the system, simplifies things as well and boom they're kicking everyone's *** on offense with essentially the same cast of characters. How about Grinch and OU's defense improving quite a bit to #25 defense in the country...basically the same cast of characters. Coaching, development and system are what differentiate between schools with similar talent levels and sometimes can overcome teams with more talent.

Joe Burrow , what a beautiful story and isn’t he the guy who got pushed to the side by a over hyped kid named Justin Fields who went to Georgia , didn’t cut it there and some how beat a kid who was clearly Ready for big time at Ohio State . Just laughable , threw 5 touchdowns before halftime lol and made Oklahoma look like they didn’t belong on the same field

That earlier thread about OSU being ranked #2 in the playoff seeding was evident how many OSU fans are on this board. It's weird.

Ohio St came into the game having won 19 straight I think their heads are high enough. How about Rutgers fans don’t care about how Ohio St feels.

What are you talking about? Burrow graduated and left when Haskins won the starting job. He was long gone when Fields got to tOSU. Oh and by the way Burrow threw 7 td's in the first half yesterday.

Ohio State does not need worship from this forum.

One team is not the B1G conference, it's all the teams. I'm so sick of Ohio State and their staff getting so much promotion and praise from other teams throughout all the conferences.

Hafley's BC presser was sickening in his love for OSU. Ash was wishing he was still at OSU his entire time here and it showed in every motto and process he installed here. It's disgusting. This type of praise just widens the gap between the Ohio States and everyone else.

It's important that a B1G team show the nation that they can play and have a playoff game come right down to the final seconds. It tells recruits that B1G Football is LEGIT when recruits compare schools/conferences when making decisions. Last night helped both the perception and reality of B1G Football across the country imo.

I tried to explain this yesterday during the game thread. Just sit back and watch an entertaining game. Too many posters on here we’re rooting for OSU like it was RU playing in the game.

Nothing wrong with rooting for a conference mate in OOC play, especially in a playoff.

Unless the team in question is Ped State.

Correct. Small time AAC fan mentality roots against conference mates. BIG TIME CFB fans root FOR conference mates. Look how SEC fans flaunt their conference. IMHO, those SEC officials did NOT WANT Ohio State because they know they would be a tougher match up against LSU.

Would not surprise me in the least if there are regular posters on this board that are probably both RU and OSU fans. Up until we joined the B1G there really was no conflict, you could root for both knowing that the likelihood of them playing each other was remote, plus OSU was playing at a different level than RU even during our BE days, and before that we were playing the likes of Lehigh and Lafayette. People want to be associated with a winner, just human nature.
