I'm confused. Tate Martell left Ohio to da U and Justin Fields left GA to Ohio and both don't have to sit out? Am I right? And how is this the worst case scenario and are we screwed?
I do think players should be allowed to transfer without sitting if the coach leaves.Welcome to the “Free Agency” era in college football...
At least for the blue bloods...our boys still need to go through the process and will likely know after camp starts if they are cleared to play this season.
If not - RU should meet with tOSU and Miami to find out how their lawyers (or boosters) helped to grease the skids.
To answer your question:NEVER. Wont happen in pure, amateur driven College Sports.Yes, regardless, because this promises to become a free-for-all, where anyone can transfer anywhere with no penalty. How long will it be until there's a shady recruiting underside to this?
Depends on your perspective. If you go by their raison d'être, not so much. To me, these moves, and almost all the moves the NCAA makes (or doesn't) are completely rational. Keep the owners (bluebloods) happy, keep the money coming in, repeat. In the ways that really matter (money, power, influence) NCAA=OSU and Miami. Of course they get priority seating. They, and schools like them, literally ARE the NCAA. RU, not so much....What a corrupt organization.
Interesting take. If it is the case, there sure are a lot of guppies out there rooting for teams (see Rutgers) that have the deck stacked against them and have a minuscule chance of rising from their current place in the hierarchy.Depends on your perspective. It’s probably more like guppies (like uconn) are rooting for guppies++ (like RU) to fail so they can take their place at the table, feeding off the scraps from the big boys.Interesting take.
