it actually exposed all our weaknesses...leaking line, martenez accuracy, fragility of Washington, recievers can't get open, non attacking dline, small lb's, cb's that can't cover, recruiting woes, play calling (except the I formation), strength and conditioning, I'm not sure if the kicking was exposed, the unhetro relationship between the buff and buckeye announcers, overhyped game....

so there's plenty to work on across the board. I'll expect to see improvement in all areas the next few months.

We didn't know about those weaknesses before the game?

i think we were really embarrased by that overweight twirler with the flaming twirl, reminded me of the old carnival sideshows luring people in.

the cheerleaders and concession folks did their jobs
Getting boat raced on prime time national is never a good thing. And BTW, my buddy who went to his first game since graduating 37 years ago was looking forward to a Runza in the stadium and they were out before half. So food inventory was also a glaring fail.

The only good thing that happened in the OSU game is that we didn't have a bunch of injuries. That easily could have happened in a game like that. Other than that, there weren't any good things to take away. At least the game is over, I guess.

I don't know, ucla waxed us with troy akmen, round 91, and it made the Husker kick it in gear. I'd actually want a tough game early in the season to set the tone. I think (players & coaches) they will respond well this time around and not fold. and it shouldn't be a finger point deal cause everyone was out of it.

Yeah, and then we later wonder why the top recruits from places like St. Louis show NU moderate interest but we have a hard time getting any to show up at our recruiting functions. We've got to stop getting blown out on the big stage.

Only positives I see are that the game is over, we didn't have any injuries and that we lost to an East opponent. We technically can still own our destiny in the West.

If that really does happen and we go on a similar roll as last year. My concern would be is this the norm under Frost and why does it take him and the rest of the team half way through the year to get focused?

I actually agree with some of this...it is so hard for a team that works so hard to admit the reality that they aren't very good. From the moment spring starts there is optimism that everything you do is the right way, and you will grow exponentially before the next season. THe players work out hard, the coaches coach hard, and you get to the first game and it is a dud and you say, "geez we just didn't play well", then you get to the 2nd game and say "we gave that one away"..."then you win on the road barely and say, man if we just didn't turn the ball over" , but after you face the best you now have a bar that is set, and the ego and arrogance of the normal man wears away, and all that is left is the grind, hard work, and hope at redemption. I sincerely hope this teams gets a 2nd shot at OSU in December. There are a ton of teams that get their *** beat in the opening game or games and have successful seasons...humility is a very healthy thing for young men.
