OSU fan in Section 128

Just venting because I'm in a bad mood...

To the OSU fan on the right side of Section 128, row 13 , thank you for making my night even more miserable. I'm a Rutgers fan and as such can deal with losing, but rubbing it in when your team is up 42-0 (and being a loud mouth jerk the entire night) shows what little class you have.

No one said anything when he was giving his O-H cheer until the game was getting away. He got louder and more obnoxious as the game went along... security finally came down to talk to him when I had enough and left. A couple of OSU fans told me that he was just cheering for his teams (as did the woman next to him)... and it was clear that they don't understand the difference between cheering and being a loud mouth winner in a visiting stadium sitting in a season ticket holder's section. I wish a fellow Buckeye fan would have told him to sit down and shut up rather than enabling him.

And the RU fan who sold this guy his ticket... a big thank you to you too.

He didn't respond to me personally (I was fairly polite and didn't curse him out)... he became more obnoxious in his vocal cheers as the remaining fans started telling him to cut it out.

At one point in the 2nd quarter, the fans started chanting "Oklahoma" specifically at him. At which point, he should have realized that he was ticking people off. I can't imagine waking up thinking that my goal for the day is to really ruin someone else's day.

There are some tone deaf morons who root for OSU. It's hard to escape. I'm sorry some of us don't understand the talent disparity and the advantage disparity. I almost cursed out a moron at the UNLV game. (It's UNLV, idiot!) Oklahoma is a good come back.

I want to say that the defense tonight showed some definite improvement over previous years. It's not evident in the score, but in the scheme and knowledge of the players. The offense is still a problem, and I'm not sure Kill can fix it. But, the backup QB, if he can throw, could be a Cardale type of player. Find a consistent deep threat, a good RB, and use Lewis as an extra battering ram when it's needed for short yardage. You can win the games against the 2nd and lower tier of Big Ten. It is extremely hard to consistently win the Big ten without a talent advantage. Some games are physically dangerous, others you have to keep up with a no-huddle high flying offense. At the end, you get beat down with all the possibilities wearing on you
.

He deserved all the repercussions. Idiots deserved to be treated like idiots. If this were at UM or PSU, I'd be a little more reserved calling him a moron. But, Rutgers has a definite long way to build to get to the talent OSU, UM, and even PSU has.

It takes time to get the right talent to all be there at the same time. One year you can get a good qb, the next maybe a good OL. You need to keep working until you can get it all in one recruiting cycle and can maintain consistency,

OSU fans upstairs in 229 were decent folks. They cut out the chanting mid second quarter. Had a few laughs with them and wished them well when we split mid-3rd quarter.

Oddly enough they said Michigan St. has the worst savages for fans. I schooled them on the garbage that lives in Crappy Valley.

with a metallic bowl on his head and 100s of New Orleans plastic beads on
he was REALLY OBNOXIOUS & surrounded by Rutgers fans

I cant even imagine how the fans in that section tolerated it

I had a bit of a run in with a drunk osu fan in 121. At 21-0, I joked that we were about to come back. He got super mad, dropped a ton of F bombs on me, and definitely wanted to fight. I told him it was a joke. Even said, "You're a top 10 team. We might be the worst team in the country." He was so drunk that he thought I said osu was the worst team in the country. His drunk friend had to quiet him down.

In the same boat . Loud , obnoxious Ohio state fan ruined the night for us. He was drunk as ****, laughed at RU all night. Someone said we will learn to hate Ohio state fans on a post last week. He was right.

I actually had a decent group around me, asking about the history of the school, the birthplace of college football, just wanting to talk football, etc. They cheered for their team but not obnoxiously. Same with the group tailgating next to us at the med school. The only jerk was a few rows down who said the crowd was 60-40 in favor of OSU.

I didn't meet or see one obnoxious tOSU fan anywhere. There were tons in the Blue lot and we had a bunch at our tailgate including some we met in Columbus last year who took us up on our tailgate invite. All of them were blown away by the RU tailgate scene. One person said to me that in 40 years of tOSU games she had never seen such a fantastic tailgating atmosphere.

We may lose the game but we always win the tailgate.

We'll always have the tailgate scene. Over past 20 years of random road games across the country, I have not seen too many impressive tailgate scenes at some big time schools. Many just don't have the natural setup and the land that we do, surprisingly in densely-populated and otherwise land-constrained central NJ.

@RUnTeX I've only encountered bad psu fans at RU (and UConn back in the day) otherwise my experiences have been positive. On the road my experiences have also been positive and, believe it or not, the Pennsylvania psu fans we encountered & tailgated near were extremely nice & welcoming. I found the Michigan fans to be very stand offish & not welcoming.

Most of the OSU fans I ran into were fine. Had one guy taking pictures of the scoreboard after every score. That made me laugh a little. That would be like me taking a picture of the scoreboard after each of our scores vs Morgan State. What's the point of that?

I think the irritating part is half those there last night were just NJ residents with no connection to OSU. Simply front runners that thought it would be cool to root for that OSU powerhouse. Meanwhile their daddy is complaining about the state spending money on RU athletics.

I sit in section 103 and next to my son and I were Buckeye faithful from Harrisburg PA.

Nice people who happen to be Browns fans (originally from Youngstown Ohio). My condolences on that allegiance.

Bottom line...we start winning and our faithful return.

Buckeyes travel very well.

Yea that guys a putz. He's in the look at me, look at me crowd. The fans near me were good. When it got to 28-0 they cheered and went nuts. At 35-0 they just sat and clapped, they knew it was starting to become a blood bath and noncompetitive. The only problem I've ever had and it's been both times have been psu fans. The most obnoxious jerks I've ever seen.
