Still think we may win against MSU if he got a shot. Literally the entire team was awful. No one could do anything and we were still in the game. Why not see if Oskar is on?

I think it was mainly bc wolf was out and minny doesn't have a stud center so he can play a small ball 5 and open up the middle
They always said Oskar has a shot. Tonight we finally saw it. If he can give us some offense off the bench for 5-8 mins a game the rest of the year it would be HUGE.
Tonight was mainly due to Woolfolk missing the game due to a death in the family. However, if Oscar can continue to hit shots then he would provide Pike with a bit more sub flexibility for the front court.
The kid is limited. In the right spots he can help. Also seems like a pro. No time then number called comes in and produces. Also seems like a good teammate riding the pine. Great program guy.

It was really nice to see the bench players get some minutes in a game.
He passed up probably three to four threes that would have been very good. Looks. He could have had 20 plus tonight
That's what made me so pumped about Oskar tonight. How can you not root for this guy?!?!
Basically recruited over and left for dead. Doesn't complain. Teammates all seem to love him. Positive attitude. Always ready. Comes in and gives maximum effort. Finally gets a chance in a real game not garbage time and makes the difference.

Oskar got extended time because the staff was upset with Dean’s D and rebounding. Sends a message that you are going to play Oskar at the 5
Dean was having a hard time with the high ball screen. There was one possession where was late getting back after hedging. Minnesota missed, grabbed an offensive rebound, reset and then tried another high ball screen and Dean then left too early and ended up giving the ball handler an open lane to the basket.
Pretty sure they gave him the hook not too long after that
I just said it in another thread. If he can shoot like that then he needs to play more. I know Minny didnt play much D, but as a spot up shooter he can do some damage.
That first three pointer he sank was the most confident I’ve ever seen him shoot the ball. Caught it and stepped right into his shot, zero hesitation.
It is, but a lot of nights we go through slumps and struggle to score. If this kid can shoot like that consistently then he needs to play.
They should be upset with Dean's D and rebounding because its non existent.

This. Oskar gave big minutes when the game was still in doubt. It wasn't a garbage time cameo only
Poor Miller. He was sent to scorers table. Pike picked him up off the floor and sent him back to the bench and asked for Oskar
Cliff, Paul, Cam, Mag, Palm....could be a rotation...and Sub. Hyatt for Mag yielding: Cliff, Paul, Cam, Hyatt, Palm and you might have an offensive explosion.

I saw that and commented to person watching with me. Brutal since Miller doesn't get minutes but that was the right move
Always be ready to play and he made the most of it. You can tell he has a nice stroke in practice, but he just hasn't hit shots in his limited chances, but they just fell tonight. Good for him and for us. Don't think he necessarily plays regularly from here on out, but probably will get a few more chances and if he can hit some shots, it'll be a very nice contribution. 13 points in 18 minutes and more points than he had all season to this point (6).
first Oskar bucket changed the whole nature of the game. perked up the team & crowd, & enabled them to get to a 10 point lead at the half..
Dean has very limited intuitive skills in rebounding / boxing out / staying with his man etc.
The guy with the Palmquist jersey on the scoreboard is his Dad. Spoke with him after game. His dad said how lucky he was to be here tonight in his Swedish accent
Miller ended up getting plenty of time... too bad he missed those ft because we had a huge list of scorers tonight
