Seriously, what happened to him being a factor at WR the last half of the season?

First 6 games:
24 catches, 335 yards, 4 TDs

Last 6 games:
3 catches, 48 yards, 1 TD

3 of the last 6 games he didn't even get a catch including the Egg Bowl. I know some of it was the level of competition but those last 6 games include Ark, ACU, and OM. Did he get injured? Just really strange how he disappeared.

Next year won't be any better WR wise. Now with Kylin going off to the NFL, I don't see how JoMo is going to do any different on offense than he has the first two years. I haven't broken down our roster as far as who he had year 1, year 2 and will have year 3 at the skill positions, but off the top of my head year 3 may be the least talented.

eta...I hate putting things on here without numbers to back up, so I went back to look.

Yeah...that injury thing is just an excuse. Ask Nick Saban....they had a stellar year despite a few freshmen LBs and a QB injury.

I could make a list of different things we were adversely affected by. Bad receivers and weak OL were 2 problems

Our receivers and OL are going to be no better next year- if anything they’ll be worse. What in the world makes you think next year will be better? Our OL was really not bad. I just think this scheme makes the OL’s job damn near impossible.

I hope Joe puts a great offensive product on the field in 2020 but have seen no reason to believe that will be the case.

And where are they ranked dick ? Number 13 ? Where are they usually ranked you moron ? And let me add this....when they bring a freshman linebacker in due to an injury he is a 5 star. Not a 3 star.

Why will they be worse ? Do you have a reason ? Do you think our seniors were the best players ? I wasn't impressed.

Never said they’d definitely be worse but there is no reason to think WR and OL will be better. We are more likely to be worse at those spots in 2020 than we are to improve.

WR- Thomas was our best receiver. Guidry and Zuber were not good, but apparently the coaches thought they were better than the young guys who will be taking their place next season.

OL- Williams was our best lineman. Tyree was our starting LT, and Champion was another part time starter.

We have been mediocre offensively in Moorhead’s first two years, and far worse than mediocre when we play decent defenses. Again I hope we light the world on fire in 2020, but it’s hard to imagine that will be the case.

You are right about Thomas and William's. The others didnt do anything special. I just can't imagine that another year won't make the guys better. Very few seniors ever really made any plays if you recall. Rivers a little. Cam and Kylin of course. We played a lot of young guys if you really break it down and I think they will improve. I'm calling 7 minimum next year. I think that's easily doable. I could be disappointed. I have been watching State since the 70s so I'm use to it

What I saw was attitude. He wasn't really even trying to run his routes. Always the last guy back to the line.

So from your position on your sofa or in the stands, you could to see the difference between a guy playing hurt and one who is just mailing it in? Do you use this amazing mind-reading ability in your work? I suspect that you don't actually have any special abilities, just the all-too-common ability to jump to conclusions that justify your readiness to be angry about something.

Good post. My thoughts exactly. Just like all " the players have totally quit" comments.

I need to kick myself for getting into this, but I am not known for intelligence .

Alabama had a 12 win team that only won 10 because of injuries. We had an 8 win team that only won 6 because of injuries.

No good enough?

Saban won 10 with no players sitting out games because of SEC suspension. We had a toilet bowl full and won 6.

I assume Alabama will win their bowl game, against a less talented team. I am not so sure about us, against a likely more talented team (their W/L record is better than ours, for whatever reason - SOS, talent, injuries, suspensions, Indians,SPS depression,etc.).

Considering the talent level Alabama is able to recruit (Pisscaloosa is not such a bad town and the salary level is better there) and the talent level we recruit (Starkpatch with low salary), and comparing crap sandwiches with orchid bloom soufflé. I could work up a scenario where we out played Alabama (I know - BS). Maybe the field will be more even and we will have 8 wins to their 12 next year. ****

Maybe Saban has lost it and we will win 9 to their 11 - It could happen This is SPS and we are allowed to do drugs.
