Meh, he was unhappy at WVU and extremely happy at UK. I think Cal had very little to do with it. Oscar got a positive change of scenery and took advantage. Simple as that.

That's trivializing it to suit a narrative. The only thing we can actually see is the performance difference. Whatever the components were that led to his ascendance happened under Cal's watch, so why would he want to run from that, it just doesn't make sense unless you're a pissed off fan who is just angry and being irrational.
You can't be certain that Cal had anything to do with that. If he is so great with developing players, why does he have so little to show for it.

You remind me of Washington Commander fans who think the next season is going to be the year even though Washington hasn't won much of anything since 1992/93. If we only managed to win one title when Cal was getting the nation's best recruits, why do you think he can win one when we are lucky to get one top 10 recruit? There is no reason for Kentucky fans to think the next season is going to be the season for Kentucky as long as Cal is here.

That may or may not be true but I think Oscar's goal is to make enough money for his family. NIL and another big year may be what helps him with that goal. I certainly don't think Oscar would tell you he regrets playing for Cal.
Who has Cal developed at UK? Please don't say Oscar. The only thing that Cal did was give Oscar a chance because he had no choice. He was the only player that Cal had who was physically able to play down low. So, it was a no brainer to play Oscar. If Oscar comes back, it will simply give opposing defenses time to figure out an effective way to lessen his effectiveness which will only cost him NBA dollars.

Folks Oscar is gone. He isn't coming back. He never was. No matter how the tournament went.
That’s what my wife and I were just discussing earlier. He’s her all time favorite player and one of mine as well. Would be a catastrophe if he does lose it. Especially after going for 30/16 tonight.
He’s gone. There is nothing he has to gain by coming back unless we can get him a fat NIL deal.
This is the kind of stuff that works well with negative recruiting. This is one of the biggest embarrassments that UK has had to deal with in years. This is worse than not making it to the tournament. Why? If you don't make it to the tournament, you are out of sight and out of mind. Once the tournament is over, the focus is only on the champion. However, when you make it and lose in the opening round to a 15 seed, it is put on display for the entire world of sports to see. This will certainly be shown for all the wrong reason during the playing of "One Shining Moment". We will have to watch this for many years to come just like the last second shot by Duke.
