the Hill experiment needs to end. he's not a playmaker. if he were, he'd be making plays instead of having stooges making excuses for him on this board.
We need to stick to running mostly from the I formation. The statistics show how much better the team is when operating from it compared to shotgun and pistol.
But if we must do the latter, then I'd really love to see the orbit motion option incorporated.
It's clear the option identity has taken root in the past two games, and that opens up the playbook for the team. I.e. fb five/trap, option pass, etc.

Down here in ASU land, he is a forgotten man but was once a major recruit. It probably hasn’t helped that he keeps getting moved from defense to offense and back.
I agree with him, but am not sure how to statistically back this up without going through game film and charting. Unless there is a place out there that we have access to.

So he's averaging 10 yards per touch? Our damn QBs need to put the ball in the right place. He is beating his man deep.
I formation has been great for us. we should absolutely lean on it. helps our line, defenses haven't really been focused on stopping the 2-back run game in years. what's old might just be new again.
but you'd be very hard pressed to find a single stat to back up his claim. our biggest plays the last 2 games have come in shotgun.
a multiple offense is what we've been promised and it's what we're seeing. that's a good thing. I'm excited to see where it goes balance of year as Haarberg gets more comfortable and hopefully a deep threat emerges.
Theres a big difference between big/explosive plays and consistent move the chains type of plays. Yes we have had some explosive plays from the gun (option plays), however we have been most consistent when under center and doing what our type of OL do best. lean forward. Not saying that we should be under center every snap or that we need a FB in on every play, but our offense seems to be most consistent when we are doing so.
We won't win big ten games with a few explosive plays.

Option identity? I formation? Count me in on both of those…still have to have some playmakers but probability of success in Lincoln is, as you alluded to, much higher. We don’t have the “Jimmy’s and the Joes” to run the pro style offense or whatever everybody else runs and I doubt we ever will. TO figured that out a long time ago, developed an offense that would have a lot of success without as many skilled players, and the results speak for themselves. Unless we go back to those roots, I really don’t ever seeing NU being very relevant again.
At least somebody has the balls to say it. We may have some good years here and there with pro style or pass heavy spread offenses, but you won’t have playmakers year in year out to make it work consistently. Only schools like OU, OSU, LSU, AL, etc. have the recruiting ability to do so.
Not sure why people focus on the offense so much. Defense is the ticket. The offense should complement the defense. Every once in a while you hit on a great qb and compete for titles.
