I am hearing that there is public pressure in the Orange County area for Orange High to become a magnet school. The Chapel Hill Carrboro School System, one of the two city school systems in the state, is academically one of the best in the country and has some Div 1 athletes. But no program to play in. Athletic consolidation at Orange would vault the program into being able to compete with programs that do recruit on a regular basis. Orange has won state championships in baseball and wrestling. The girls softball team, football team, and track team have made great strides toward that last rung of competition. It dosent seem fair that some get to go on because of where they live and play and some just pay to look.

At Orange football under Coach Moser his staff taught players to be committed, reliable and dependable and how to collaborate and to operate separately then together. Senior players mentored junior student-athletes and provided invaluable leadership skills. Time management was stressed as well as sometimes a player has to wait their turn to excel. These life lessons mold students into patterns that reflect big dividends.

The most politically incorrect thing in Orange County is Orange football. From winning football (gasp), selling Chick Fillet (swoon), FCA meetings (why not), kneeling only to pray before and after games (oh!), crowd waving America flags (yeehaaw), grilling meat in the parking lot (animals are full of meat), and GPaw sittin' beside GMaw' spittin' bakker' juice in a Dixie cup yellin' '''Just Win Baby'''!

Son, we live in a world that needs winners, and winners have to be lead by men with guts. Who's gonna do it? Well we are... Coaches have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for losers, and you curse the winners. You have that luxury from your seat. You have the luxury of not knowing what we know -- that winning, while tragic, probably saves lives; and winners existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, makes lives worth living.....

My Uncle June from Cleveland County has this problem. He lives in a trailer park named 'PANCHO VILLAS' and got divorced cause' wife married neighbor (side to side). Each single ex spouse married each other. They got divorced then remarried the original. All showed up in court on same day. He wants to make sure he gets all his half stuff back that the first divorce cost him which includes a letter jacket from Burns Hi and the gas in the lawn mower and a dog tied to a spare tire. Are they entitled to the proceeds from the pawn shop where they hocked the half stuff just procured from the divorce. Will football in Orange County ever be the same.

Heard several Cedar Ridge players transferred to Orange to play football. If any start over an Orange player look out for a parent howling contest. C-Ridge has got a new coach who won a ring at Hillside but he'll need a pipeline connected to Hillside to float that ship before turning it around.
