I have been reading Clarion-Ledger sports for a long time-basically because it is the only paper in the Jackson area. I believe with all my heart it is an Ole Miss biased paper! They get the most coverage( best pictures, larger articles) also thier beat writer reports on them from a positive perspective! On the other hand the writer for State writes from a negative perspective and seems to dig up every negative stat he can about State, he also goes to to links to make States coaches and administration look like baphoons. He does it in a stealthy way. I know he is an OM grad. Do you think that Ole Miss would stand for thier beat writer being a State grad( I realize State has no journalism school)? If hired, the polititions, lawyers,and money boys would make sure he or she got axed! Im kinda new to this board and have enjoyed it for the most part. I know for a fact I am not being paranoid or just dreamin. Ole Miss gets the most and best coverage and State is left with second fiddle at best, and at worst the Clarioin-Ledger attempts to squelch State in order to protect and promote the darlinOle Miss). I would love to hear other opinions because I have no doubt!!!

Actually, you know what, that's not enough. While I fully believe that Kyle has stepped over a line here by reporting on some kids Facebook status' as news all it shows is the downfall of print media, not any bias. Kyle probably should have a little more pride in his profession, and himself, not to get pulled into that without some reason to actually dig into it instead of joining the FB stalker / TMZ crowd. BUT, overall Kyle has done an excellent job of reporting on MSU. Due to his talent we have gotten better coverage than we deserve in the last two years based on our win/loss records. By and large the reporting has been very upbeat and positive except in the situation where it was just a negative story. So I don't think it's enough just to call you a douchebag for breaking the rules, I think I also have to point out you are a super douchebag because you are just wrong.

I was on this board for years and never read the rules until a couple of months ago.

I can't tell you what they say now. There are too many damn rules.

There are only Ten Commandments. Why does this board need 500 rules?

Everybody likes to see a little titty now and then. Yeah, you'll have to put up with some **** from the wife (CL, NCAA), and you get cut-off for a few days but it'll be okay.

How do you think he has stepped over a line here? To my knowledge (and granted I could be wrong), I don't think this story has hit the actual papers or news print. All I've seen of it, is VZ saying on twitter and his blog that he is aware of the rumor floating around and is looking into it. That's all you can ask of a good reporter. Where there's smoke, he should be looking for a fire. Its his job. Also, the athletic department felt like it was a big enough issue to release a statement, so at the latest, that should have prompted VZ to start looking into. Give him a break. He's doing his job, and he's damn good at it.

Kyle did step over the line and he is still going (look at the newest blog). He even interviewed "Rick" for christ sakes. Hey...ah..Rick this is Kyle Veazey...uh did you see any recruits at your place this Saturday. I got word from a facebook page...

He will run this in the paper tomorrow. It's on their main website stories. Hell Kyle has been working on this for the past two days...he has got to produce something.

I believe Kyle has done this before...seems like he posted something from Wikipedia or something to that effect.

The damage has been done. Other internet media outlets are reporting his first story. And when Mr. Frappuccino figures out there is nothing...he will write another blog or story that these other media outlest wont report because it's not news. </p>

this dude couldn't be more correct. There's been no story in any paper that I've seen. I'm sure there will be now because the university released a statement on it. Veazey's doing his job, you know the thing that he gets paid to do, not paid well I would guess. You guys have to learn that a blog is not a news source, it's a blog and even then Veazey has reported nothing but facts. How would you have felt if a writer just came out with positive stories all the time when Croom was the coach. Fortunately we had someone who presented facts. Veazey doesn't even write opinion pieces like Locke, he does his best to be unbiased and has been so.
