Early take on B1G teams:

Ohio State- guard play is very questionable. It's going to bite them in the *ss come B1G play. They may fall down the pecking order of the B1G if the situation is not addressed ASAP.

Michigan State looks a lot like last year's team, athletic, tough but lacks shooters and scorers.

Purdue's guard play will be the deciding factor as to how good they are for the season. They have average guards handling the ball for a team that has everything else.

I can't get a read on Maryland.

About to watch Northwestern and Minnesota.

I can't believe Indiana struggled to hold off Eastern Michigan. What with their hall of fame coach and all. Now being told that their coach is 63 years old and has never coached a college game until today and was 50 games under .500 as a pro coach. Nevermind.

Definitely not the most impressive B1G showing tn, at least Michigan State is competitive w/ Kansas

I wonder what’s with Purdue’s Trevion Williams not starting and scoring 0 points in 4 minutes deep into the game. He’s not in foul trouble so I wonder if he’s injured. He’s an All-American on many teams and chose to bypass the draft.

Apparently, he came off the bench in their last scrimmage as well.

I wouldn't get all that worked up about teams losing their openers and/or winning by small margins on Day 1.

Team chemistry is a work in progress and every team is super hyped on Day 1.

Remember we almost lost to Bryant in our opener 2 years ago and we would have been an NCAA team 2 years ago had it not been for COVID.

I just hope we win comfortably tomorrow night...:)

Some interesting hot takes to watch for trends through November...that one game doesn’t make a trend

-Ohio state backcourt performance ?
-Michigan state being more fluid on offense ?
-Indiana scoring issues continue ?
-Nebraska lack of inside game and offensive team cohesion ?

Edey has been more productive in practice. Nothing wrong with a 7'4 Center to start and thing bring an All-american off the bench

Nebraska gave up 23 offensive rebounds and had 6 assists vs. 12 turnovers. Just a complete non-interest in any aspect of basketball except the shooting.

Except in this data and age, the All-american might not be too happy. He only played 15 minutes, scored 4 points, and I don't think he was injured. time will tell.

7-4 Zach Edey has improved where he is as good, if not better, than Williams. Both are still really good. They will almost never play together though. Expect them to split the 40 minutes in what will average out to something close to 20 minutes each.

Williams did pick up his 2nd foul with about 5 or so minutes left in the first half which probably cost him 5 minutes to finish up that half and that would've put the split close to 20/20.

His production for 15 minutes wasn't bad. He got 7 boards and a few assists.
