Cards need to get guys on base. Right now they aren’t doing that. Forbes, other than leaving a pitch up in the zone for a HR, is pitching pretty well. His offense needs to step up.

How long does Mac stay with King?
Third team All American sitting on the bench over there.
Not easy to uproot the guys that have been in the system I know.

I bagged on EKJ a lot last year. He got hot at the end of the season. But, to me, his swing is pretty one-dimensional; if he hits the ball, he hits it hard. But, he usually misses most breaking pitches he sees.
Forbes is pitching great. All he needs is some offensive help.

I'm not picking on King either, but he's in the 4 hole for heaven's sake. Hell, nobody's put any juice in it except the two smallest guys in the lineup. If Davis gets anything in the strike zone, look out.

I would have thought Mac would go with experience wherever possible in this first series. Little surprised with Davis at 1st. Now, let’s see if the bullpen can keep us in the game.

Eddie can shut me up right here.
Davis had a great Fall. He's already that guy who won't see anything in the heart of the plate.

Shocker. Can’t get it done. Swings through a breaking pitch. Just poor plate discipline. Bring on Pike.

I would equate Mac's pain level of moving a Senior out of the lineup to getting a root canal. Lol

Seeing guys just too aggressive, especially with 2 strikes. Gotta be able to lay off these bad pitches and quit helping their pitchers.

I am afraid of the senior love as well. You play who is getting it done - period. He cannot afford giving any guy too much field time hoping they round into shape.

Same poor plate discipline. Just hacks away hoping for contact. Just sad.

Som of a B!
That is ALL on CDM. Stop being a puss and sit him down. Not like he won’t have other opportunities.

Way too early but this is the kind of pitching that built Louisville baseball. If the staff can have an era under 5 closer to 4 they have a legit shot at being really good.

That is a good Texas team.

I wouldn’t be too hard on King, but he can’t stay in that spot and not produce. It is that simple.

We've been down this road before...more than once. His leash is shorter because there are guys ready to take his spot. It's up to him..

Thanks to all of you who posted; I was not even aware we were playing yesterday.

I went down the list of comments and it was like I was there. One takeaway; EK Jr must have disappointed, but Lucas delivered?

IF EKj hits the ball, he hits it hard and good things can happen. But, he is bad with breaking balls and just swings away.

No way he plays for me today. I bring him back Sunday against a lesser pitcher.
