One thing I've thought about with the departures...

[dawgstudent]

if we have a normal spring/summer - the departures would have happened then and it would be less alarming.

Are we assuming the departures are unhappiness with Leach? Or maybe these guys failed drug tests and Leach, who doesn't really have a season to salvage, decided to not have any leniency to set examples and tighten the ship for next year?

I pose this question because I hear it's because of drug test failures, which Leach has a zero tolerance policy for. Rumor only though and not verified at all.

[patdog]

Agree. But I don't think it's alarming now.

Having players quit middle of the season is not normal.

Having players quit middle of the season is not normal.

It is now, with the transfer portal and spots at a premium. Will get worse if they pass the immediate transfer rule.

It is now with the portal. It's the new normal. But most were sent on their way.

[WilCoDawg]

Does entering the portal mean they’ve quit the team? Honest question. Are they still on the roster?

[Junction John]

I admit I don't follow other teams closely (or at all), but I don't see this

midseason mass exodus happening anywhere else...

Not that I care - I'm actually on Team Clean Sweep. But to say the way this is happening is normal isn't correct either, I don't think.

[horshack.sixpack]

Yes and I'm not alarmed now. We need a coach who runs the program and doesn't let the program run him.

Not having the spring or summer seasons has thrown off a lot of expectations

Other teams--don't have a brand new system. the Coaches know the players. Leach is just now learning his players and what they can do. if we have a spring training--then these players would have already matriculated. How you now this is all the players decisions? How about our coaches have told them to hit the bricks. the sky is falling -the sky is falling--chill the 17 out.
