One small but significant thing about EJ and Nick... opening tip.

We will win most all of the opening game tips this upcoming year. Seems like we typically lost the opening tip last year more often than not. When Nick started throughout his freshman year (inexplicably) I thought that was at least one thing he did really well that first year. Not a huge deal but one more possession to work with.

Winning the opening tip is worth (on average) probably 0.4 extra possessions per game. So worth about 0.5 points per game.

But you will say, the 2nd half they alternate. Yes, but that assumes there are no jump ball possessions in the game, which happens, but not too often. If there are 1,3,5,7 jumpballs then winning the tip gets you an extra possession, if there are 0,2,4,6 jumpballs then it does not get you an extra possession.
