Since Kansas State has played Texas-San Antonio and South Dakota before and after Mississippi State and WVU has played Tennessee and Youngstown, the statistics might be meaningful game averages. Or not. Anyway.

WVU outscored K-State, 46-26.

K-State allowed more points, 24-15.5.

WVU had more yardage, 586-356.7.

WVU did way better in passing yardage, 382.5 to 179. K-State passes for only 152 yards against South Dakota.

WVU did better in rushing yardage, 203.5 to 177.7. K-State did rush for 256 yards against South Dakota.

K-State allowed more yards, 390.7 to 297.0. K-State gave up 257 passing yards against South Dakota. Who thinks Will Grier won’t soar past what South Dakota did?

K-State has fumbled 7 times in 3 games. Bill Snyder’s team lost only 5 fumbles all of the 2017 season. Not the ball possession team you expect from Snyder.

WVU lost one fumble and had 1 intercepted pass in 2 games.

The numbers favor WVU. Let's home the numbers on the scoreboard at the end do, too.

Miss State is not WV.
Miss State is a physical team on both sides of the ball.
They pushed LSU around. That does not happen often. Plus they matched Alabama physically last year.

Didn't watch last year's game so I can't give you my football knowledge about what I think will happen.

I can tell you that K State can and will try to run the ball and keep Will Grier off the field.
If they move the ball well and WV struggles on third down K State can and will win.

I don't think this will happen but it could.
Thinking WV wins maybe by 6-10 points.

You really think WV's offense is that much better than last year.
K State did a great job on Will Grier.
They pretty much shut him out in the second half. If their QB had anymore experience they would have won.

Probably too early to tell about WVU's offense. Only a 2 game sample size. I do think it has the potential to be better.

The likelihood that WVU scores 52 points on KSU is slim. Old man river will try to slow the game down & limit WVU's possessions. It's possible that WVU opens up the floodgates, but unlikely. Other than the 1st game in 2012 this game has been very competitive. I expect it to be competitive again this year. The key will be KSU's running game vs. WVU's run defense. WVU's Dline appears to be significantly improved, but will be tested on Saturday. I do like this stat though:

Kansas State #78 YPC

WVU's run defense isn't exactly the Steel Curtain, but it never really has been under Holgorsen. KSU has typically been in the top 30 in rushing offense so that's a change for them. Could be a window of opportunity for WVU Saturday. I marvel at what "the wizard" has done in his career with the lack of athleticism at Kansas State. So I don't expect this to be a blowout. He usually finds a way to make this game competitive. But it would be nice to get an easy one with them for once on Saturday.

I am iffy on WV. Not because I don't think they can be good but because I haven't seen the proof yet.
I think WV's biggest concern will be if Oklahoma St and Texas continue to improve on both sides of the ball.
I think WV will beat TCU but I think WV fans want to play in Arlington at the very least.
WV plays both teams on the road.

Back to WV. I think they are naturally better on both sides of the ball but the question will be how much.
More importantly how often does WV and Will Grier go through the droughts that they did a year ago.
There were times in important games against competitive defenses that Will Grier could not convert on third down.

With all that this is their first true test.

I believe WVU's offense is better, but there is no way I can prove it at this point. Just going by eyeballs in the first 2 games. The sample size is just too small right now. You are correct though, this is their first true test in regards to Snyder. He is very good at getting his team ready for Big 12 offenses.

EXCELLENT ANALYSIS. I DON'T TRUST BILL SNYDER EITHER. HE ALWAYS HAS SOMETHING UP HIS SLEEVE. HE'S NOT FIREWORKS, BUT HE CAN BE AN IMPERTURBABLE TURTLE.

Hey Greg, K State is 16 point Dogs.

I do know KSU offense is worse than last year just as their defense is worse.

I actually feel insulted by that.
Don't know where Greg is. Him and I don't really get along.
I just don't see WV winning by 16.
K State's D might be worse but their Offense brought everyone back mainly except their FB and OC.
