And sadly that's one of the reasons why Frost's time is up. Recruits just are not going to come to a school where the head coach is viewed as being on one of the hottest seats.

Has the current staff stopped recruiting for the most part? The new coach will need to have connections and a solid staff to outreach and hit the portal hard for new players.
He did say they were going to focus more on transfers and JUCOs *shrug*

If the staff has slowed down on recruiting they are pathetic. However I don't think they have or have by choice.

We are on the verge of 4 straight losing seasons with the same coach. These teenage kids, who know nothing about life yet, know that a coach isn't going to be around with 4 straight losing seasons.

They made it pretty clear they were going to avoid the JUCO route. Do it "the right way" well, on top of game day coaching and player development, talent evaluation was also lacking so they have to go against what they preached.

Here is the kicker.

At this point, they are going to have a hard time pulling in highschool kids that can win in the Big Ten. They are going JUCO because they have no choice. BUT since they turned their noses up at the JUCOS, they don't have relationships established with JUCO players and coaches. How do you think their JUCO recruiting is going to go?

You think the JUCOs are better than what we got?

Just kidding. Frost is just waiting to be fired and collect his buyout.

They also said this was going to be a small class so they were going to be very selective.
We are tied for last place in the Big Ten for average star rating per recruit.

Behind Northwestern, Purdue, Rutgers, and Maryland.

We are tied with Illinois.

This staff has not shown that they are able to spot a diamond in the rough, let alone a whole class of them.

At least we don't have to hear the Frost apologists say, "We could lose the recruiting class if we fire Frost."

We should be filling a class of 25 this year. Given the number of kids likely leaving in offseason , we will have lots of room.

On the bright side. The new coach will have plenty of Official visits to use.... OR once Frost's situation is settled he'll have them available for transfer portal guys and 2023 recruits. It isn't all gloom and doom.

You can’t sign someone to a spot that doesn’t exist. They can sign 11 given the current scholarship situation.

You would think a handful would have come just to see Ohio State play.

HOL reported that there were 40 recruits slated to visit was a premium article. Does that mean that 39 are local kids thinking about walking on or just getting free tickets?

Probably a wise move of slim recruits as they don’t want them to see an ugly game result
