I can’t speak for others, but I’ve been pretty consistent in my opinion of the core players on the team and Pike.
Your criticisms and observations are level-headed, and that's fair game in sports and sports forums. But just as people take exception to RutgersAl's sunshine posts, it occasionally bothers me enough to challenge some posts/posters (not referring to you here) when I see them going to the opposite extreme and unduly slamming our guys.

Yep. Caleb would be fine as a glue guy coming off the bench when he can just play d and pass . He shouldn’t take a shot outside a layup
We need Caleb to be like Darryl Morsell was with Maryland. Not sure what happened to Caleb's mid range game from 2 years ago.

I agree with that and hope/expect Pike to figure out the lineups that will work, but I'm not freaking out just yet. I remember being pissed off beyond belief when Cinci throttled us at home (football) in IIRC the second game of the season in 2009. It was embarrassing and completely unexpected. Then Cinci went undefeated and Kelly left for Notre Dame. So it remains to be seen just how good our opponents are and what we need to do to get our heads right. Against Lehigh it looked like we expected to out-athlete them on every play even when it was obvious they were completely holding their own and we didn't seem to mentally adjust.

Net-net, I don't have the fuller picture yet of our team or those we're playing, so am not jumping off a bridge anytime soon and certainly not going to attack other posters for not being negative enough. There's plenty of time to lose our minds, it's just too early for that.
That cinci game was the opener. First game in the expanded stadium.

That’s fair, I get your point.

Caleb is fine in a small role, he's being asked to do way too much right now. Remember his nice cut in OT against Minnesota and JY found him? Or Cliff finding him on a cut down the middle against Lehigh? That's what he needs to stick to. No standstill out or rhythm elbow jumpers

Yes our outside shooting sucks and are offense is a major problem. Again. But hat's troubling to me is that against Lehigh and Merrimack we didn't look more athletic or physically dominant. And despite having clear high advantage, we were not dominant on the boards. At least last year , when our shooting was horrible , you could see the team speed and quickness . And this is a big problem, especially as we start the meat of our Big Ten schedule. We need a point guard other than Mulcahy. He is not quick enough, does not penetrate, and so far this year is not making his shots. He just slows down the offense.
