We will have a better chance than Memphis. Tubby Smith was great about bringing in 3-4 year guys. You saw where that got us. Let's just see which team goes farther this year.

So the new standard is to be better than Memphis?
You quote a post that says a couple (2). If I assume
2 each year, that's 8 on the team. (He mention K Meeks and G Allen as examples, not exactly chopped liver)
That leaves 5 schollies each year for the 5* type.
I'll take a Dom & Willis every year and 3 OADs and
a couple high fours. Every coach in America would if they could.

Kind of late on this one aren't you, and I would say to your comment look in the mirror.

This is how we do it. Let cal continue to do what HE'S good at.

However, lots of bs in this thread. Over the last 5 champions, there weren't many OAD 5 star guys getting rings. Not only do you not need them if you dont want them, but it's probably easier to win it all with 3-4 year guys, especially for most coaches.

Where did i say anything about recruiting like Memphis?lmao ... Maybe add a couple low 4* that needs time..I think Cal knows this and you see it this year in Baker and SGA..

Nope. You need to look in the mirror.

After, all of these season with Cal you are still one of those that trashes the players and the coach's philosophy during the season, only to be made to look like a fool. Again.

Look forward to your criticisms in Jan/Feb this season as well.

You would think 2014 would have taught some of you something...

I hate to say it but that team you just mentioned would most likely beat this years team. Just my opinion.
Wtf are you smoking. That had to be one of the worst takes ever.
Dom, Willis, Lee, Matthews and and one of the lottos beat ALL THREE lottos, willis and whoever....really? Brad could be the fifth...it wouldn't matter
This shows a lack of basketball IQ; If you believe Matthews and Lee are anywhere close to being that good.
No post from here out can be taken seriously

Wait...umm? New handle?

First what an idiot you are, look at the date on the original post mr. johnny come lately, when that post was made the cats were struggling and had no heart, I stand by what I said. I never trashed any player and never will. I love the way some of you uneducated D.A. come on here and attack people without even looking at the content of the original message.

I don't care when it was posted, that's a terrible take. I'd love to hear you defend your reasoning for thinking you could have replaced Fox and Monk with Matthews and Lee and that team would have beaten last year's team at any point in any season ever.

Just say the Cats were playing poorly in that stretch and you were whining and venting. But you're out of your mind if you try to dig in and stand by that.

Also, has anyone ever noticed how "great" our senior experience seems to be when the other players are really good? Why were Hawkins and Willis so much better this season than last? Why was Darius Miller suddenly a "clutch veteran leader" when Davis and MKG came to town?

I do sometimes wish Cal would follow through when he says he's going to bench players who aren't doing well, but I definitely don't want him to change recruiting as long as the one and done rule is in place.
Never will happen unless he has an equally talented player on the bench to play.

Had no heart?

How moronic?

Did they all of a sudden find a heart? Or did true freshmen finally learn the system and learn to play D1 ball?

We have seriously basketball ignorant fans.

Several seasons we struggle, but the kids always play with heart and all but 2 they have finished strong.

Had no heart....[pfftt]

Love Kentucky basketball and was so happy when Cal came to coach. I still admire him but wish we could change the recruiting. Would love to see players stay so that we, the fans, could feel a real kinship with them...our boys, so to speak. I miss those days when we knew the guys and looked forward to seeing them back the next year.

Surely you are making a joke? Why would you want any coach to recruit lesser quality players. Makes absolutely no sense.
