Do we go after the biggest D1 names entering or getting guys like we have with Schaeffer & Nicholson, we have been successful there, imo.
Are there bidding wars as we see in basketball & football, maybe not to that degree, however?

Forbes' MO has been the latter, usually finding the right fits at smaller schools than chasing the biggest names.

Consider this list of portal era signings ...

Hull - George Mason
Winslow - Duke
Schaffner - ND State
Paulsen - Stony Brook
Hynek - GaState
Kepley - Liberty
Bass - Wesleyan
Angelo - Montclair St.
Chmielewski - Princeton
Donofrio - Quinnipiac
Madera - Arcadia
Harbor - Georgia
Sprague - Elon
Hough - Fay Tech

I do not know Forbes's plan, but I would go after Savoie for sure. He would be familiar with the comp and has produced at a high level. However, he may be too high priced.

What an unbelievable job from Coach Forbes & staff. There’s about 8 All ACC types on that list and probably 3-4 All American types. Incredible work.

Let’s go get ourselves a monster. Talking about someone who will come here and hit .300 with 27 homers

Yep. Because “monsters“ will be in very high demand. Georgia, Florida, Texas, Texas A&M, Tennessee, LSU, and others will be on them very quickly. I don’t think very many posters on this board have an appetite (or will write checks) for that. I’m even more satisfied that Coach Forbes doesn’t.

Ben, I agree with you, no question Wgat we have done in years past, I alluded to Coop & Jake.
However, there’s some serious talent hitting the portal who have performed at the D-1 level already.
We have done well getting some great guys at lower levels.

Great guys at lower levels adapt to the culture a lot better than a guy from a P3 conference who has played in a program that allowed more than we do.
