The "real" malfunction junction was done away with earlier.I didn't realize it was still there as recent as 2005. I thought it disappeared back in the late 80's or early 90's. Damn, I'm getting old!
There were rarely wrecks there because everyone always paid attention when they got there. One did not simply drive through malfunction junction. It required extreme focus. Every. Single. Time.

There were actually 7 roads that either entered or exited that intersection. Some engineer actually thought that would be a good idea.A total of 6 different roads converged on one spot.
I have a soft spot for malfunction junction. It's the campus I remember. I'm better for having endured it.
I'm also extremely jealous of all the students down there today - they don't know how good they have it.
