in 1974, ole Tricky Dick, in his State of the Union address, made the statement "one year is long enough for Watergate." He made the statement and received a big applause. Approximately seven months later, he resigned.

Obama is pretty much keeping his mouth shut, so no comparison.

That one year wasn’t enough to get to the bottom of Watergate.

Wrong comparison. Obama's admin allegedly illegally spied on Trump. Nixon spied on his political counterparts. This investigation has been ongoing and will take quite a while.

The Trump investigation is no comparison with an investigation into corruption within government. Mueller already has all of the forensics he's going to get.

Nixon claimed the investigation was a farce, and needed to be ended in order to allow the government to operate as normal, to applause from the floor. Yet, it wasn’t enough time.

Let’s see what Mueller comes up with.....oh no wait it’s been a year, so there’s nothing there.....and yet the comparison is invalid?

Noone is calling for an immediate end, especially Trump. He has called it jacked up charges and tried to stop it from getting started, but once started, he has left it alone, has he not?

I think Trump is green lighting the campaign to discredit the investigation....at the very least he his contributing to the effort.

But yes....he hasn’t called for an end on the floor, or fired Mueller yet.

You aren’t? Literally saying that Mueller has everything he’s going to get, and also that he has nothing.....that sounds like a call to end the investigation right now to me

Bet. He won't even mention it tonight. This will be Davos all over. Except for ICE arresting the illegals.

Having lived through Watergate, it's second rate burglary and coverup. The FBI's involvement and spying on it's citizens with a fake dossier is 100 times worse.

Trumps lying is A Ok? Lol, no contacts at all to no collusion at all to it's the FBI and DOJ, all he has left is his rube Army pretending he has a shred of accountability or that he cares about America more than he does his own ***** grabbing disgusting self. The FBI is not a liberal institution and the DOJ relies on the law not the President.

There is no collusion and it doesn';t matter since it's not against the law. If you want to hide your head and ignore what was said, go ahead. I voted for Nixon and was never more disappointed in anybody in my life. Let the truth come out, we are all better for it. When the truth comes out about all the crap that was pulled by the liberals at the FBI and justice, we will be better for it. Some people might go to jail, but we will be better for it.

Jacked up charges, lol, Trumps problem is that he can't separate the fact Russians interfered with us and his insecurity that folks will think that is why he won, which I don't. The collusion aspect I figure has more to do with him not expecting to win and when he did not having a clue how the separation of power and checks and balances work, he thought it was "his" government, he isn't the sharpest pencil in the book. He is having to work to other folks schedules for the first time in his life and is not in absolute control, it grates on him you can tell.

Makes you wonder why someone would try so hard to obstruct an investigation into something that wasn't there, No contacts to no collusion, no meetings to oh that meeting, they have been tripping all over their lies like amateur hour since day one. My money is with that hippie liberal lawyer Mueller, lol. Only the rubes could come up with an excuse for Trump that it is all because of the "liberals" at the FBI.

We shall see about those people at the FBI. Nobody has obstructed anything. Comey should have been fired for lying.

Don't think it will be long before Obama and Hillary try to make a speedy retreat to hide in some of these countries they have destroyed over the years. It will be cheap living in one of the s**thole countries they produced.. They are as guilty as sin. Both could be charged and jailed right now. Liberalism is insanity

When has Trump lied ? Lets wait and see if Mueller charges him with lying.

Didn't he say something on an airplane one time about Donnie Jr's meeting with Russians? My memory is a little fuzzy. Can someone help me out? Oh wait, it's coming back to me.

"Earlier this year, when reporters were sniffing around Donald Trump Jr.’s now-infamous June 2016 meeting with a Russian attorney, some people inside the Trump camp wanted to come clean: to issue a statement saying that Trump Jr.’s meeting was about getting Russian dirt on Hillary Clinton.
The president, however, disagreed.
During a flight on Air Force One in July, he personally dictated a statement to White House spokesperson Hope Hicks saying that the meeting “primarily discussed a program about the adoption of Russian children.”
That statement, released on July 8 and attributed to Donald Trump Jr., was quickly shown to be verifiably false."

Do you think this might be obstruction of justice?

Just add it to the list, the long list.

With Watergate there was something that occurred to start investigating. Trump being elected President isn’t enough to start an investigation.
DNC was hacked and email dumps favored Trump - knocking Clinton off her horrible message - Russia spent time and effort trying to influence the election (the extent of which needs to be investigated), Popadopadowhattrumpasks telling people they got dirt from Russia, many different foreign contacts from campaign figures

It’s an investigation, not an impeachment

If you don’t think the Russians are responsible then how do you feel it’s appropriate for a SP to investigate collusion? Seriously, WTF?

I always thought collusion was a byproduct of the investigation. The extent of Russian influence, how we allowed it to happen, how to prevent it, did it work, did Trump benefit, what their motivation was, did the winning campaign know or help. And I thought that any crime uncovered, including evidence fabricated to secure a FISA for illegal campaign benefit would be within his scope as well. No?

No, we’re investigating collusion. Can he do all of that? Yes. My point to dumb dumb there is that if you don’t think the Russians were helping him or effective, then how can you be in favor of a SP for collusion? This is bizarro world.

But he wasn’t appointed to investigate just collusion, he was appointed to investigate Russian influence into the ‘16 election, right?

Which I think most Americans were in favor of, even many that voted for Trump.
