To me you come back to uk for one thing: legacy.
Tyler Ulis could leave UK as the greatest point guard ever at Uk. Maybe he wants that title over money.

This is rarely brought up, but he could actually have both money and an enduring collegiate legacy.

Crazy talk, I know.

Bad business decision, honestly. But hey, it may be important to him to finish college and win a title. That's perfectly fair.

I'd die if he came back. I'd literally poop my pants, rocket to the moon, and die.

I have always found the "Cal won't let him" comments dumb. What's Cal going to do? Withhold a scholarship from one of the greatest point guards to ever play at Kentucky?

Well, if you believe the Dajuan Wagner story...

Think there's about a 5% chance he comes back. Not impossible, but not expecting it at all. Think Skal is much more likely to return, but who knows. The "special" phrasing has me believing it's positive news, regardless of what that may be.

i would like all this news regarding Ulis staying is held off. Because other than A. Davis saying he is returning, there is no other player i want more to stay than Ulis.

My hope is going up way too much right now. ahhhhhhhhh dreamminggggg

So is mine!!!!

Considering that there is nothing on Matt Jones' blog site since Jan 31st, I'm calling bull%^& on this thread.

Don't be gullible people.

Double duty if ulis returns bolden will be forgotten easily. But let me ask this what if ulis and briscoe return? Does briscoe become the first guy off the bench? He can play 3 different spots. And if skal returns he could play at the 4 which would be a perfect place for him

Ulis will wait and see how things go at the NBA Draft Combine from May10-15th. The players will have 10 days after May 15th to make their decision. That is when Coach Cal will gather all the info from all the players to let them know where they might be drafted. Ulis on Draftexpress was at #20 in the 1st round. The lottery picks are #1 to #14. Ulis will probably be in the 1st round anywhere from #20 to #30. This doesn't mean he has to go to the NBA but most of the time the players in 1st round are usually gone. This year being a very weak NBA Draft many are telling the players to go this year with the 2017 being one of the strongest NBA Drafts. I would love to see Ulis, Fox, and Murray next year in the 3 guard line-up but we also will probably have Briscoe back next year. That would be a very crowded and talented backcourt like in 2014-2015 when we had the Harrison Twins and Ulis/Booker in the backcourt. I just don't see Ulis staying if he is projected a 1st round pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.

Reasons Ulis could possibly come back:

1). Ulis was a good not great shooter this year, but poor performance early hurt his stats, he could realistically come back a much better shooter next year and elevate to a lottery pick. For all the talk about it being a stronger draft class next year, it is not a stronger PG class.

2). Guy is passionate and competitive and wants to win; could come back next year, graduate early - he'll need a degree to move on to college coaching some day - and possibly cap off his career with a championship.

3). Because I want him to very badly.

In regards to Ulis, if he is borderline second round this year, he would likley be the same next year. The only thing is next year he goes to the draft with a college degree in his hand. Maybe thats important to him.

You don't think taking a team to a championship would do for him what it did for kemba walker? I firmly believe winning the title would boost Ulis 10 spots.

I'd be mad if that was announced. I like him as a person, from waht little I know about him, but i'm ready to move on from his once in a blue moon good performances.
Can't be Poythress coming back... he's already got a big autograph tour around the state lined up. Getting paid for autographs = definitely not coming back to college.

I would be totally AMAZED if Tyler returned. His NBA Draft stock will NEVER be higher than it is now.

The OP has a history of making outlandish posts with no links or facts to back it up.

I'm not gonna believe anything we hear on April Fool's day. Although didn't Cal accept the job on that day? Or was that his press conference at UK?

His stock could go higher. Many people here said that it would be impossible for him to be a first rounder because of his size and his inability to score in the paint after his freshman season, and he came back, dominated that part of the court (and many others), and is projected to go ~19th in the draft. There are skills he can add to his game, and it's another year in the weight room, which matters a whole lot.
I don't expect Ulis to come back. I expect a good franchise in the NBA to get an incredible point guard next season, but to say his stock will never be higher? I won't buy that for a moment.

I believe it will be something about rupp arena with cal out of town
Why would UK be making an announcement about Rupp Arena when that building is owned by Lexington Center Corp (City of Lex)?
I still think it could be an announcement of jersey(s) being retired at a special ceremony early next season.

He'd come back because (a) he's a smart kid who understands the value of physical maturity upon entering the NBA; (b) he strikes me as the kind of competitor who would return just because of the disappointment of losing in the second round on the NCAA tournament this year, and to try to win a championship in 2017.

I think I read somewhere that Fox said he'd love to be on the same team with Ulis.

I love the crowd that is running with this "can't improve" nonsense that they repeat because they've heard it over and over. Of course he can improve in his junior year. He can actually improve a hella lot. And yes, he can move up the draft board too.

I've thought he will return since the season started. I won't believe otherwise until he says he's going.

I think he could definitely improve....no doubt! It would be pretty special to see a junior Ulis leading the team! Having said that, I just don't see him returning, but that's just my opinion. P.S....my opinion isn't very valuable....lol
