I thought the defense played better than I expected. Early on I was disappointed in some the runs they gave up and overall still disappointed with the pass rush but I was very happy with the back 7. ISU has a very potent passing attack and we held up very well.

I’d have to watch again, but I thought they had a decent push on most pass plays - hence making Rocco rush things…

Rocco played his worst game of the year, but he did enough to get it done in the end. A lot of that struggling was because of the quality tackling by the squawks. I also thought that the refs allowed a lot of tugging and pushing by the DBS, but they did for both sides. You guys have a quality defense as usual, but it's not going to be enough with your poor offense and schedule you are playing.

Are you still lurking over on this board? Dont you have anything better to do than say you are a Clown fan but want to talk Hawks. Rocco was pretty well held back by the hawk defense just like last year.

The Clowns play in a weak conference, KState is not very good, ISU would get pounded in the Big 10 by a whole bunch of powerful well-balanced teams. Iowa had a lot of great season records the last 10 years while winning most games against the Clowns yet Iowa still has trouble with the power of Ohio st, Mich, Penn St, and now Oregon will be tough.

Iowa St would not want anything to do with playing in the Big Ten

Defense played well to make up for a head coach in his 27th year taking the ball instead of differing until the second half, only giving up 3 points to start the game then the pick to the Iowa 18, giving up a td. That’s 10 points right there you can blame on the head coach and offense. Don’t be dumb Kurt.

Still here, and we still won, enjoy the squawks seasons. The one thing I have learned from watching the squawks who you beat becomes less important down the road, then the number of victories you get. The squawks made a living beating no one in the pillow soft big ten least division, enjoy your loses to Penn St. and Oregon, you know the real teams in the conference.

You may have watched the same game, but certainly through differennt colored lenses. I don't get you clones. First your on here before the game telling us your going to pound us because we suck. We play the game, still can't pass the ball and yet it took another 54yd field goal in the last minute for you to win at HOME. All the while your telling us we suck, but you really think you'd beat OSU, oregon, PSU, etc...? You guys are delusional. Go away for your own mental health
PS: try rereading the post you quoted. Thats not what he said, obviously......

You enjoy all the loses as they start to pile up, playing those great teams.
Look man, you guys are the definition of a paper tiger. You’re talking all kinds of trash and your boy Rocco managed to throw it for 134 yards. Iowa is probably the 9th or 10th best team in the B1G this year. If you manage to make the playoffs from your terrible conference you would be a 14-18 pt dog at a minimum against Ohio State, Penn St or Oregon. Good Lord Oregon just blitzed OK St 69-3 and didn’t score in the 4th qtr. The chip on your shoulder is ridiculous.

I'm never worried about the defense; they did their job. They held a solid team in check for most of the game.

The offense will continue to lose games for Iowa.
Never worry about this D lol. How about when it needs a stop and never gets one or when facing a Big 10 power. This D is going to get ran over, worse than last year. It does tackle better than those softies a year ago.

So you are saying is that ISU is the new Squawks team of the B12. Getting better bowls and a shot at the playoff, while you guys are finishing in the bottom half of the conference and complaining about it. The whole point going forward will be getting into the playoff, without the name schools in the B12 our chances increase while adding the 4 West coast teams your chances decreased. That is the bottom line, and you guys know that and refuse to admit it.

As an Oregon fan who is born and raised in Iowa that whole statement is true. Iowa fans had no problem the past ten years being the big dawgs in the Big Ten West where offense is just offensive and all the talent was in the East. Iowa state is now essentially in an entire conference of Big ten west caliber teams and now has the better odds at making the playoffs compared to Iowa who will need to finish top 4 in the Big Ten to have a chance. Iowa fans know that winning 6-8 games now in the new big ten is going to be much harder than winning 10+ in the Big Ten West. The 4 new west coast teams on a terrible day can score 21-28 points while Iowa on a great day against FBS competition can only pull 20-25 hence why Brian got fired.

Who is not admitting that? Honestly at this point it’s just Oregon, UCLA is the worst team in the league, and USC while a huge brand has still not proven anything under Riley. But yes, it’s almost impossible at this point for it to happen.

Sigh. The Big Ten West again.

It was always seen as soft because we are all boring and none of us could beat Ohio St., Penn St. or Michigan other than Wisconsin and Iowa (only Ohio St. for the two of us) . The Big Ten West was .500 against the entire Big 12 with Oklahoma routinely beating Nebraska. Big Ten West was 10-14 against the SEC. While not a winning record it's much better than people would have guessed.

I looked it all up 3 days ago but you are welcome to check my work. I was trying to use who was in each of the actual conferences at the time.

I don't think the special teams is talked about enough. Wetjen clearly was trying to do too much and Dakin hit the worst punt I have ever seen him kick in that game. I'm not worried about either long term.

No kidding. The defense gives up 16 points (10 of which were on a short field), but it’s their fault Iowa lost. Unbelievable.

The game was lost by the offense and Kirk (again). Special teams also contributed.

He's a troll named DrPhilSeuss something that came across from the old site. Bashing the Iowa D is his typical schtick.
