He's rated extremely high out of high school I see, but only a .84 on 247 Sports. I wonder what the disconnect is there?

Anyway, awesome! Sounds like a big badass receiver we should pick up!

He could be one of Frost's biggest commits yet. Added to our other weapons, he's a guy that could take a top 10 offense and turn it into a #1 national championship level offense.

It would be nice to have at least one other assistant who can recruit like Held. Or at least close to that level.

Beckton is a pretty darn good recruiter, he's helped us make a lot of inroads in the Atlanta area and Florida.

But I find it puzzling why Held is the lowest paid assistant other than Ruud. Give the man a raise.

I think a lot of it has to do with Rivals not having a rating for him yet. 247's site has him a borderline 4 star and the 21st best juco in the nation. I could see him being a 5.8 when Rivals finally rates him, which will skyrocket his 247 composite.

Two more national analysts have joined Wiltfong, 3/3 CB's for NU. Nothing definite, but a decision could be coming soon.

So are we worried Frost won't recruit well this year still?

Never worried about Frost's offensive recruiting. Defensive recruiting is another story. We only have 3 defensive commits so far and have missed on several of our top targets.

Now ranked a 90 on tos, #6 juco, 0.8556 Comp. Rivals needs to update, probable 4*.

I was about to say he’s a 4 star on 24/7. Rivals will more then likely have him at minimum a 5.8 4 star...if not a 5.9 4 star WR. I’ll gladly take O Manning as our last WR. He looks a lot like Quincy E that plays for the Jets now.

Quincy Enunwa was a good receiver. I think Manning is going to be way better.

College level, I will more then agree. Quincy was a 5.7 3 star while Manning was damn near a top 100 WR. And Omar might even be a better NFL WR as well.

Why would we give a raise to a guy doing the job he is paid to do? Seems we get these proclomations with every new Staff. I remember the same about Bill Busch, D. Williams, and on down the list.

Baffles me. Maybe he needs a raise for proper RB rotations?

You give raises based on performance. Some people clearly think he is over-performing for his salary.

Yeah you wouldn’t wanna keep an excellent recruiter around. That’s just insane!!! Give him the minimum!

I think you are selling Enunwa a little short. Enunwa was pretty good at catching passes, but he was a huge unsung hero in the blocking game. Probably one of the better blocking WR’s the Huskers have had.

If Manning is as productive as Enunwa at both catching passes and blocking, I’ll be ecstatic.

Baffles you? You give people raises when they outperform their peers by a wide margin or you will LOSE them to someone that will.

Let’s also not forget that it is known that he wants to be a head coach at pretty much any level, despite his tremendous loyalty to Nebraska. So any way we can keep him here, I’m all for.

So, to recap, he was apparently hired to only bring in 2 stars at his pay level. Now he is recruiting people that may or may not pan out. Let’s pay the man!

Again, see: Busch, Bill and Williams, Donte..among others.

Pay is for performance, not potential.

I may have missed out top 25 recruit rankings...and we know where that gets us...but hey! Pay the cat!

So you don’t think Held had anything to do with Ozigbos breakout year last year? And look around the country, assistant coaches are getting raises for recruiting prowess alone every year.
You’re probably that guy that thinks head coaches should still be taking Osborne’s $230,000 a year salary.
