Alright, I'm a 1st timer going to Omaha, and kinda doing this on the fly. Like many others have said, I wanted to have tickets to at least our 1st game in-hand before I went for a sense of security.

With that said, I went through the NCAA Official Ticket Exchange website, which takes you to a PrimeSport website. Found tickets, purchased, entered card info and and everything. Seems just like StubHub except they don't actually "transfer" you your tickets. How the heck do I go about procuring my tickets? They even sent email saying they created an account for me on FlashSeats and I have no clue why or how that factors in.

Tl;dr -- I should have just bought them off StubHub.

Also, can someone give a process summary on how to get GA tickets (or any other tickets for that manner) AT or outside the stadium as to avoid having to buy online.

TIA

Get the PrimeSports app on your phone. You should be able to put in your information and get a bar code for each ticket to be scanned. Tickets are quickly moving to a digital format to save money and slow down counterfeiting.

there is basically a long, but fast moving line they have in a parking lot down the center/right field line:

as seen here in the bottom left of the picture. you wait in line and they pass them out. line moves very quickly. first come first serve, but you are talking about 5,500 people. i forgot the procedure, but you basically get a voucher to buy a ticket if memory serves me correctly. you take the voucher to the ticket office and purchase the ticket then. its a very fast moving process once it starts.

when should this process take place in relation to the game we are wanting to watch?

im a little fuzzy on the details, but per the ncaa CWS FAQ :

  • GENERAL ADMISSION & ENTRY PROCESS
  • Are general-admission tickets guaranteed?
  • No. The admittance to the general admission section is based on a first-come, first served basis to the first 5,500 fans. However, there are times when the stadium allows for more access. If this occurs, additional patrons waiting in the GA line may be allowed to enter for standing-room only access.
  • Are the seats individual chair back or bench style?
  • All seats located in the general-admission section are bench-style seating in Sections 125-136.
  • Can I or my party save a place in line?
  • We understand that there are large parties that attend the game by way of general admission. As a rule of thumb, a single person should not hold a space for a large party. To pass the time, if you wish to attend the Fan Fest, you should be courteous of those around you and notify them that your son/daughter is leaving to play on some of the interactives. Same holds true if you need to leave for the restroom. However, someone from your party should always remain in line.
  • How early should I get in line to ensure I attend the game?
  • It is hard to say how early you need to arrive to each game to guarantee admittance. Much of this depends on who is playing, the day of the week and the weather. Since the gates open two hours prior to the first game, it is recommended that you get there around that time.
  • How many fans are let into each game?
  • The capacity for the general-admission section is 5,500.
  • If I make it to the first game, can I stay for the second game?
  • No. The stadium is cleared between all games. If you attended the first game, you must exit the stadium and get in line for the second game.
  • Through what gates can I enter?
  • Those with general-admission ticket may enter through Gate 3 or 4, which are located on the East side of the stadium.
  • What can I bring in line with me while I wait?
  • Please refer to stadium policies as to what may be brought into the stadium. If you bring a chair, please note that those will not be allowed in.
  • Where do I purchase GA tickets?
  • General admission tickets, costing $90 per book of 10 tickets, are available to purchase online: click here. GA tickets also are typically available in April from Omaha area service clubs, at many Hy-Vee, Baker's and Family Fare supermarket customer service counters, as well as the CenturyLink Center Omaha box office and other locations throughout the metro Omaha area. For all ticketing information, including a list of locations selling GA books, please visit NCAA.com/CWS.

i wouldnt show up 5 minutes before the game starts and expect to get in without sweating (i bet you could get in anyway), but if you make a reasonable effort, its really not that big of a deal. there are a ton of chairbacks so GA tickets arent that critical. i recall a 20-30ish minute wait in line. bottom line, dont let the uncertainty of tickets get in your way of going. there is plenty of seating and you will get to see the bulldogs play. its a well-run operation.

First, thanks to all the posters for all the valuable info here. The pack truly does know all.
How are scalpers around there? The cheapest tickets on the NCAA and PrimeSports are about $100 for saturday. Are there scalpers around there, or are online ticket outlets the best way to go?
I just downloaded Primesports (which matches the NCAA site) as well as FlashSeats (which doesn't currently bring up any events for Omaha).

J-Dawg - did you ever get your tickets to come up on FlashSeats? Or figure out how to get the ticket to appear on PrimeSports?
It sounds like the PrimeSports app should have tickets w/ bar-code to scan, is that right?
I'm still a bit fuzzy on how this works. Dang I feel old and out of touch... and I've been in hi-tech for 20 years (which technically does make me old I guess... sigh).

You will be able to walk up and buy tix at the gate vs osu, unc, wash..... basically youre good til the finals. Our side of the bracket doesnt travel well. The other side does. Tx schools, uf, ark....thos schools are gonna represent. But be ready for the awesomeness of the hometown msu base. Theyre not really msu fans persay but they love the msu fans being there. A lot of them told me in 2013 that its just a better atmosphere when we're around.

I used Flash Seats for every game in 2013. Once you have your account set up, your credit card is your "ticket". They scan your card and print your seat info on a receipt.

If you are patient, you can usually get tickets for good prices on there. We got tickets for an LSU game at face value right at first pitch, and scalpers didn't even have any to sell.

thanks for starting this thread. there is some good information. our group just bought GA ticket booklets so we could see both games saturday, and that was cheaper than buying one individual game ticket from the ticket exchange when i looked. It says pick them up at will call so hopefully that won't be too bad and the line won't be too bad for Saturday for either game. hopefully if there is a big crowd for GA there will be plenty of people selling seats around so we can still get in. any chance seats will get cheaper the day of from scalpers for single game grand stand seat? Right now our plan is to just go with the GA tickets for Saturday unless we can find some really good deals on seats when we get there.

Do they still do the lottery? I think it was 2013, we lined up day of game and they picked a number. They'd count back that far in the line and that's where they'd start the ticket sales. Then they'd sell available tickets to those people until they ran out. So if they still do that, you have to take several people from your group and space them out in the line to up your chances of getting picked.

I called the ticket office and they said they still do lottery each day. We did it in 2013, like you said spreading out in the line with several people. Were able to get reserved in upper deck that way. Think it starts at 900am, so have to be in line by then.

been 3 times, and did Flash for only one game. GA can be bought on Craigslist and around the area for face value( $10). Get in line 3 hrs before gate opens, and chat up your neighbors that others will be joining soon. Most folks are cool with it, and they do the same. I took a small/ cheap yard chair and put it by the trash can on the way in the stadium. It was there when we left, and repeated 2 other times. GA seats have a great view of the field, and saves a lot of $$. I doubt I will ever buy field tickets again. They are just too pricey for my budget. We took a cooler with snacks, sammie's, and drinks and had lunch/ dinner to save some money for the Merch. You will want to buy lots of stuff because it is everywhere!

If your buy on primesport, they are having a credit card issue and will give you a call before processing your order. I am awaiting my verification email which should then show up on FlashSeats.
