But OM has a great TEAM! We just play street ball. They play as a TEAM. Would trade Howland for Kermit tomorrow***

The SEC is just not very good other than Tennessee & LSU and LSU is waiting for the NCAA executioner to carry out their death sentence.

Typical SEC year with typical SEC style of play. Outside of the two teams you mentioned, Alabama is at least watchable.

And speaking of unwatchable, Auburn and UK are tied at 2, seven minutes in. 2 of 23 from the floor.

OM thought Kermit was a world beater and they are slowly realizing he is just another middle of the road basketball coach.

Up to 14-10 now with just over 5 minutes left in the half. May be a record low-scoring game.

I didn’t think he was a world beater but sure got tricked into thinking he was very good, after year 1. I was very, very wrong. And we aren’t even fun to watch. Our offense is terrible. I think we are really close to imploding and having a 3-15 type SEC season. He’s going to get a 4th year, but that seat is going to be HOT.

People laughed at me when I said AK was a really good coach and we Ole Miss fans needed to be careful what we wished for. He will win a lot at UAB.

25-21 UK @ half. If there was any justice in the world, Rick Ray would have been forced to do the play by play of this game as a condition of his buyout from MSU.

I would take AK over Howland or Kermit, but none of the 3 will get you very far.

Eh... Kennedy was a decent coach during the worst period of SEC basketball in its history. He had over a decade and only got them to the NCAA tourney twice, both times as double digit seeds. And his best team (the Marshall Henderson/Murphy Holloway team) came to Starkville and lost to Rick Ray’s first team that was one of the worst in SEC history.

He is the definition of a coach who wins a lot of games without doing much and had quite a few underachieving teams. There are some similarities to Howland at MSU, but I would still take Howland.

Hard to argue a lot of that, but I do think if he’d had The Pavilion to recruit to he’d have been a good bit better. He is a great evaluator.

Also, ironically, if he had had this NET system versus RPI he’d have went to about 5 NCAA Tournaments at Ole Miss and be by far the best coach in school history. Kermit got in in year 1 because of NET. He wouldn’t have under RPI. It would’ve helped Stans a lot, too. Who reminds me of AK in a lot of ways.

That was a terrible period for SEC ball but unless the league brings in more coaches that understand how the game is played today, it could get worse than that.

Want to know how I know you don’t keep up with basketball? Because you didn’t even mention Alabama for 17s sake.
