Ole Miss better than Oklahoma?

So Ben Garrett said on his podcast that Ole Miss is better than Oklahoma. Why do they do this? Why not focus on having a winning record, or not having sex with members of the coaching staff? Why is every year they dawning of a dynasty in every sport?

And after they get their win over mighty Austin Peay today, they will be better than Ohio State, and Corral will be a shoe in for Heisman. Book it.

People freak the heck out over Week 1. Every year. Like clockwork. The same Oregon team that struggled mightily with Fresno State is smoking Ohio State in The Horse Shoe right now. You can make very few definitive statements about teams based on one game.

I think Ole Miss is probably not AS good as people think, just like State probably isn’t AS bad as a lot of us think. But we’ll see.

It means Ohio State and Oklahoma are not playing good ball. I can also see how they might actually be better than Oklahoma. Pretty sure they woulda spanked Tulane ***. And I can certainly make a case that Corral might be better than Rattler. At least right now. Yes...OM is pretty good.

With that said, I listen to Ben’s podcast, and while Im
sure I could’ve been distracted, I haven’t heard him say that. But, thinking Ole Miss should (emphasis on “should”) beat Tulane doesn’t mean anyone thinks they’re better than Oklahoma. Week 1 games are weird and misleading. I have a feeling y’all prove that tonight against NCST.

With all that said - Tulane is 100% capable of kicking Ole Miss’s *** if they don’t show up to play. They’re very, very well coached. And they get a ton of spillover talent out of the greater New Orleans area.

Oxford would melt down if they lost to Tulane. Coachspeak is not necessary. Just like Starkvegas is in turmoil over almost losing to La Tech. If Tulane had not got Bama'ed on that interception they might have beat Okie. Sure...middle of the season they may be rolling but today they look bad.

I think you’re right. Ole miss certainly isn’t as good as most Ole Miss fans think. That doesn’t mean we can’t be good, but we have a long way to go to actually content for anything.

Nick Suss had a good stat, I thought. If you extrapolate OM 1H defense against Louisville out across the entire game, it would’ve been the best defense in the nation since like 2014. BUT.. if you only use the 2H, we’d be like 128th in the country. (Basically what we were last year).

So, we aren’t as good as the 1H, and aren’t as bad as the 2H. But we still got a long, long ways to go. We are definitely a lot better than we were when Kiffin took over, though. And that’s all we can ask for. I think MSU is going to be a good bit better, as well.

Absolutely they are. I'm expecting them to trounce Bama and anyone else standing in their way to immortality. We are talking about a group of talent that would put the 2001 Miami Hurricanes to shame. At this point, everyone else is just playing for second place. I'd be shocked if Saban isn't looking for jump **** to Oxford after he recognize the gold mine of talent they have assembled. Expect Joe Brady and Kyle Shanahan to join him on the staff. Their alumni are already gearing up to raze "The Vault" and build a stadium that will make Jerry's World look like Veterans Memorial. It's over boys. Pull your thumbs out of your *** and start suck'um.

I would say that you must have gotten those insightful talking points from the Spirit, but then it could have come from a lot of these early season college football geniuses in the media.

Take it anyway you want. I can watch football and make objective assumptions. Oklahoma is not a top 5 team. I seriously doubt they could stop OM from scoring. I don't need an annual hype fest to watch 2 teams and make assumptions about which one is better. Rattler will improve as the year goes on tho. Today Corral is a better QB
