You are right - the production is horrible. They could have the team score posted at the top and it would be nice to show the scores for each match and the points awarded.

not our best match today. Boo and Wittlake looked good and I give credit to Sheets and Whitcraft for finding a way to win. Hone was close and can beat Demas if he stays aggressive. Picc looked off, but caught the cradle for a fall. Lot’s to work on for next week.

Whittlake is the truth he will push the bull next week...

I hope so...but IMO the bull wins comfortably by dec. Wittake has wrestled well for the most part this season, but his schedule has been relatively soft. Not his fault, he wrestles the people on the schedule and has beaten the opponents he's supposed to beat, which is a positive. If he can test the bull, perhaps even score the upset, It'd be a great sign going forward in his career.

With their styles I see it being a close one take down being the difference

If Whittlake gets to his offense and threatens takedowns it will be close . The match Travis lost to Griffith he never got to his offensive kinda got tripped up and taken down. I think since then he has really turned the corner.

Some nice words from Marsden...

Based on John's post match comments, I think there will probably be ranking matches at heavy (& 174), so Marsden might still win the spot.

The match sure started bad but got some better. Pic got the pin but I don't understand how Moody gave him so much trouble with takedowns. Pic seemed a step slow and got caught off balance in the match. Witcraft was lucky he didn't get pinned because he took himself flat to his back and pulled his opponent right on top of him. But did catch his opponent with a very good timed whip over for 6 to pull out the match. Hone wrestled smart but never got close to a takedown. Boo won by major but a 0 to 0 1st period was poor. Nice finish of the match by Sheets for the win. Wittlake dominated a poor opponent with the Iowa dual will tell us a lot about Wittlake. I would really like to see him stay with Marinelli and it would be very good for Cowboy wrestling this year and in the future. Joe wrestles sloppy and it cost him. I have hoped for a good ending for Joe but I don't know if that will happen. Montalvo has to get better at scoring points even against average opponents. I can't believe that he taunted his average opponent after scoring 4 points with a late takedown. Geer is losing confidence fast and it is easy to get to his legs and his defense once his opponent is on his legs was horrible. His sprawl is horrible and his hips and legs don't seem very strong and his balance isn't good. Geer needs a quick recovery because he seems to be dropping like a rock. Harris got a major!

From a fan of both teams, take it as you will.

125 - Picc should have pinned Moody in the first period. He’s just that much better. Credit Moody for going all out and making a great show, but the pin was probably inevitable.

133 - I’ve heard Madrigal was injured. I was reeeeeally looking forward to this match. Nice showing by both. Hoskins is an undersized 125 pounder wrestling up, and Wittcraft fought back marvelously after being down 6-0 immediately.

141 - I was actually pleased with Don’s showcasing two low-level shots. Will open up his big throws more if he can establish those shots.

149 - Boo will be a finalist. I love how he wrestles. Butler’s just a redshirt freshman, so I’m hoping for growth from here on out.

157 - I think these guys are both fringe All-American types. Congrats to Wyatt for being a gamer. Great match by both.

165 - Wittlake’s going to be for real, real soon. But this match wasn’t a resume builder. OU’s struggling here big time.

174 - Good win for Mantanona. He may be the greatest first period wrestler I’ve ever seen. He may also be the worst second and third period wrestler I’ve ever seen. He kept the pressure on Joe the whole match. I think we all know Joe’s not who he was two years ago. But he’s still dangerous.

184 - Montalvo looked good. Not a great opponent, but did what he needed to to win.

197 - What a fun match. Especially from
197 pounders. I thought they both kept getting off the mat and coming back after each other. Like 157, I think both are on the edge of the AA round.

HWT - Sad that this is the best either team can do. They both need upgrades here.

Im sure which ever color lens you watched the match through depends on how you saw it. For me, OU hustled more than I’ve ever seen them wrestle against OSU in the last ten years. Several close matches that seemingly could have gone either way. It wasnt going to affect who won the dual, OSU is just still hands down that much better than OU. But it made for a more entertaining Bedlam than the last few years results.

Think you are spot on. I was pretty disappointed in OU’s fight the first Bedlam. OU made up for it today. They brought it.

I'll gladly eat crow...but I don't see it being close IMO.

I thought the stage was set for Joseph to go out a hero in GIA. I liked the fact that he had enough in the tank to take a beautiful shot down the stretch. Give that Sooner a lot of credit for an amazing last ditch counter...timed to perfection. I thought Lake and Craft and even Talvo looked like scrappy dudes. I was a bit surprised how Moody took Picc down 3 x. A few of their guys were better than I thought. The 84 pound fiasco was unnecessary at best.

SoonerSports lists it as Elijah Joseph. My bet is the TV production crew got it wrong.

Niko Chavez is our 141 pounder.
