Question is how good is Florida St starting their 3rd string QB tonight?

I expect Louisville will knock them off..

If Bama beats Georgia, do they jump Texas? For as much as I dislike Texas, I would say no. They beat Alabama.
you can't leave out an SEC team of the CFP. just can't. no one will believe Georgia or Alabama isn't one of the best 4 teams.

Texas is getting screwed. Sure, they'll have a great excuse, but they're getting screwed if FSU wins, Michigan wins, and Alabama wins.

You absolutely can and have to. Every other conference has been left out. You can’t leave out an undefeated P5 champion and if Texas and bama are the choice for the 4th spot. It has to go to Texas. Otherwise why play the games?

I understand that argument, but Bama beating #1 for the last 3 years going to have some weight to the committee at seasons end….

Believe UGA going to win so it will be moot point..

Reminding everyone that the SEC only plays 8 conference games. That should give them a demotion if those 4 Non Conf are all cupcakes.

If Michigan, FSU, Texas and bama win…bama should be out and people should be prosecuted if there is any other choice. Texas won at bama. Bama can’t get in over them.

I tend to agree, but they will pick Bama, we all know they will. They will say they are both 1 loss conference champions and the SEC is the stronger conference. Also Bama’s strength of schedule will vault up into the top 10 after beating number 1 UGA. I personally think that head to head should be the deciding factor, but the committee won’t see it that way.

I really hope not. There are no auto bids. What if bama and Georgia both had 2 losses? They still get in? At the end of the day it would be a very unique situation but putting bama in and leaving Texas out should trigger anti trust investigations. I’ve always defended the cfp and p5 conferences leaving out the smaller schools…but you can’t give preference to just one conference and that’s all it would be if bama got picked over Texas.

There's a good chance FSU loses with their 3rd string QB to Louisville. The line on that game is down to FSU -1. If Louisville wins and Michigan beats Iowa, then the four playoff teams will be Michigan, Washington, Texas and the winner of the SEC championship game.

Florida St has no business being in the playoffs win or lose. They are not the same team that played all year.

Texas absolutely DOES need help today.

And, just like that, they're getting loads of help from the zebras.

If Alabama beats Georgia, Texas needs to absolutely drum Okie State in order to have an argument to make the college football playoff instead of Bama.

This is the way the SWC still does business (see Nebraska TAMU 2010)
Are the refs non Big 12 for this game?

IDK, my gut tells me they won’t leave out a 1 loss SEC champ. They’ve given preference to the SEC every year since the playoffs’ inception, and they’ve (the committee) been rewarded (some would say justified) for their bias with an SEC national champion. Not sure why that’d change this year…

I was really hoping the Big XII was going to screw texass and Oklahoma on the way out the door, like the did everybody else. But this just goes to show the whorns were always calling the shots. Even as they abandon the conference, they are still in charge.

SCREWeD! No review on a redzone int when on replay it appears clear that the UT DB didn’t complete the catch through ground contact. Big12. Some things never change.
They got crushed. That call wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game.

and before texas would get in, a 1 loss Georgia would.

only way texas makes it in is if FSU loses (or Michigan i guess but that's a formality).

I don’t think you’re right. Do I want it? Sure. But it’s also the most logical conclusion if you strip away the argument “but sec”. Georgia would be out because they lost to bama. Bama is out because they lost to Texas. It’s actually very simple.

Does that mean it will happen? No. What do I think will happen? No clue. Honest to god.

It would be soooo Big Ten for Iowa to upset Meatchicken. If Iowa knocks out their QB early, they might have a chance.

If ya had to bet your house...literally...on who'd win between Bama n Georgia versus every single other team in a one time neutral field matchup....everyone is taking Bama or Georgia...don't think both will get in, but both ain't getting left out either...

Penalties aren't the only calls, nor is there some requirement that penalties be called evenly.
Never said there was. But when someone says Texas is getting all the calls when that's patently false well it's just ridiculous. Funny but ridiculous.

They had gotten all the calls when I made that post. Notice I called out the ridiculous officiating the other way before half? Of course not, you're just here to be a giant douche on a board that's not yours. Get ******.

The charge is to put the best four teams in the playoff. SoS, head to heads, overall record aid in that charge but don’t fully define it.

My opinion FSU will be left out. They are clearly not as good with a third string qb as their record was to this point. In a four team playoff they don’t want the snooze fest of a Michigan Iowa rematch which is what kind of challenge FSU would probably present a truly playoff level team.

FSU gets their #2 QB back for the playoffs. They'll have a competent offense to go with that defense.
