Tonight Lemonis gets tossed and his team responds with the W. Last fall we go to Memphis and the head coach does not in a VERY iffy play. I know that there’s two totally different personalities...but DANG!!!! Sometimes a coach has to go crazy for his guys! I like our football coach (and I’m certain he’ll never change)...but every now and then, you should just NOT allow your team to get the shaft!

Hail State!

Exactly 11.7 baseball players can opt out with little or no con$equenses**
The rest must calculate the cost of quit.

Thank God the coach has some fire! Or else, the team would have surrendered!

Don't get me started. Bring it, glfr.

The standards of decorum for football and baseball coaches are different. Always have been, in both college and pros.

When have you seen a football coach tossed?

I don’t recall a football coach getting tossed. My point was...Leach should have stood up for his team. I said that day that they’d have had to dragged me off the field before kicking the extra point. Anyway... I just thought it was interesting...both happening in Memphis in 2 different sports, and the different coach reactions.

I love coaches that get fired up to fire up their team.

One time our women were not playing well against an inferior team and Coach Vic got a tech (or at least very close to it). I was close enough to the huddle to hear him say to his team, “I’m ready to fight! Who’s ready to fight with me?!” Of course we dominated the rest of the game.

Their response had nothing to do with them taking the starting pitching out because he is a weekend starter and their bullpen sucks. No, it was simply the screaming that did it.

Leach not standing up for his team wasnt the problem. It's that he wasn't engaged enough in the game to even know there was a problem. He never saw it. He admitted such. And that lack of focus MIGHT be why his teams don't show up a lot of times.

There’s probably no difference in trying to run a game in real time vs being a fan seeing 5 replays before the special teams unit even jogs to the sideline.

That damn Memphis back judge call was so bad, I would have thrown a 17ing fit at midfield and made security restrain me and carry me off the field. It was that egregious.

Be careful, I got blistered on here last season because I said I wanted to see more emotion and fire from him. All he ever does is put his hands in his back pockets, stroll out to the ump, hears and explanation, and strolls back to the dugout.

This isn’t what I see/hear. I see/hear him on the umps every game for balls and strikes from the dugout. And he picks moments to come out of the dugout to argue with fire. Alabama series last season comes to mind.

TV doesn’t show everything. Go to a game and sit near our dugout. Better yet, ask one of our players if they think he is too passive. Ask an umpire if they think Lemonis just goes with the flow.

What exactly do you think Leach saw, or should have seen, from his spot on the sidelines?

Quit being so dense. I guess Tony Dungy's career is suspect because he didn't scream and yell.

It's like you see things done one way and say, "Well, if it's not done that way, it can't ever be successful." How boring and moronic.

If it's Mike Leach's opinion vs. braddog30's opinion, well I'm going to go with the guy who has an actual track record.

I do think the memphis call was egregious enough that Leach should have chewed their *** until he got an unsportsmanlike penalty. Rarely makes sense to do that in football, but probably should have then.

Same issue I had with Howland. How can you go 7 seasons and NEVER even get one technical foul???
