Since Self turned OK State down and Gillispie isn't in the mix, the names being thrown around for the Ok State job are Jamie Dixon, Tubby Smith, Kevin Stallings, and Lowery from SIU. Even Calipari's name has been floated around. Despite his age, if I was the OK State AD, I would place a call to Larry Brown. He may not be there very long, but he would win big there.

my bet is that tubby wants to go back to a big time program without the highest expectations that KY had. therefore, i think he'd be a great candidate for the OK State job

Supposedly Boone Pickens was willing to pay Self a six million dollar signing bonus and three million a year. Hard to believe he turned that down since he is an alumnus of OSU. Evidently money is not the issue in hiring a coach.
