Sorry if discussed in a thread I have missed.

What are we thinking gets us a regional host? I’m assuming a National seed is out short of sweeping but will 1 win get us a regional host site? Is there a chance we already might have it?

We sit at 12 this morning. TAMU sits at 10.

1 win & we host. Pretty good chance we host even if we get swept. Probably get a top 8 seed with a sweep, but not with 2 wins.

So we better win when Tico pitches. I don't have a lot of faith in anyone else on our staff at the moment. Duke is serviceable but he certainly isn't going to dominate anyone. Primarily because he puts too many guys on with walks and HBPs and he normally only goes 4 or 5 innings. Until McPherson gets back to form we don't really have an SEC caliber 3rd starter.

My guess is that if McPherson recovers well today, his pitch count will be raised to 60 or so next week. I think we see a better version of him

Counting the TX tournament, we're 7-3 in games he starts and 10-10 in games he doesn't. So yeah, we need to win that one. Right now, I have little confidence in any other starter.

One win at the cult compound in College Station this weekend should assure us of Regional Host. We could possibly be the 15 or 16 if we get swept with the right combinations of events in other series this weekend plus win a game or two in Hoover.

The path for us to be a top 8 is really tough. UCLA, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Texas, & Georgia appear to be locks as top 8 seeds plus probably UNC which only leaves 2 maybe 3 spots.
Currently 12 in the RPI (really 13 because #14 Georgia is a top 8) We would need to sweep A & M which would get us above current #10 A & M and #9 USM and probably need #13 Ole Miss to win 2 at home against #6 Bama and it would be a bonus if LSU would win 1 or 2 vs. #11 Florida and #19 win a couple @ #8 USC (the real USC in Los Angeles)

One more win and we PROBABLY host. I do feel like it would depend on what others do as well though. Two wins between College Station and Hoover should get us there without having to worry, though.

Top 8 seed is not out of the question but we’d either need to sweep A&M or win two and have a good showing in Hoover, IMO.

If they seeded it today we’d probably be around the 11 or 12 seed overall. But could move up or down, obviously.
