Cohen should be able to pay Shoop more than the whole UMASS coaching staff would make without breaking a sweat.

It would be nice not to have to worry about hiring a DC this offseason. Shoop has done well and lets his aggressive guys play that way. We lose a lot, but with the depth we have, next years D should be very good as well. Rivers is going to have a big year.

Don’t forget Marquis Spencer opposite of Rivers, he played a lot of SEC football as a 17 year old Freshman... Kobe Jones, Aaron Odom, Autry, Crumedy and Lovett are a good start on building a solid defense next year.

The DL has the most question marks, IMO. Assuming everyone stays:

LB - Erroll, Leo and Will Gay Jr.

DB - Smithermann, Cole, Landrews, Dantlzer, CJ Morgan

A W over Ole Miss on Thanksgiving never fails to bring out the crowd who loves to spend other people’s money on Black Friday.

You are an insufferable motherf17er. Go get on your UK boards for Christ’s sake. Why the 17 do you even bother? 17. You.

I mean, the only things he ever posts are smart as comments. Never seen anything like it.

It’s like he peruses the board only looking to bully posters to feed his ego or insecurities. Makes no sense.

DL won't be as elite as this year but that is hard to do. Chauncey Rivers should come back and be the focal point. The good news is, we've recruited really well here and have plenty of upper and lower class guys to fight for spots. Lee Autry and Fletcher Adams as seniors with Rivers and Spencer, that's not too shabby. Some guy named Kendall Jones too, I've never even heard of him.

I agree with Hadad. Its time for Leo to move on.

I don't understand this & think Hadad is ridiculous for saying it.

Why is it time for Leo to move on? Isn't that his decision?

Has he broken a law that I'm unaware of?

Do MSU fans want him to move on? I'm an MSU fan & I don't want him to move on.

I just don't understand Hadad's angle on this. Because Leo was a witness against OM he doesn't deserve the opportunity to develop into the best football player he can?

Just please explain this stance.

Really? I've heard absolutely no one say that.

All I've heard is that he intends to be back.

Where did you hear that he wants a change of scenery? Actually, within the bubble of MSU, I think Leo really likes it.

I haven't heard the slightest whisper of him wanting to move on.

I would assume Hadad says it, in a sense that maybe Leo needs a fresh start.

But that's Leo's decision & there have been no rumors that he feels that way. It feels like people are trying to inject their opinion for no reason.

Do MSU fans want him gone? I don't so why do MSU continue to say this?

Furthermore, he never has to go to Oxford again. Next season should be the easiest of his career as far as dealing with extra stuff

Don't forget Kobe Jones along with Fabian Lovett, Crumedy, & Devon Robinson red-shirting this year and some of the true freshman Pickering, Russell, Moore, & King Ani - we should be fine

It’s just another dumb take by hadad. He’s too sensitive to what his reb friends think. Why else would he say that?

If you read this Leo, there are folks on SPS that like the way you play ball and support your school and team. We hope you stay around.

Hadad is basing this purely on hypotheticals because he assumes Leo is worn down from the OM charade. In consideration of his NFL potential, Leo needs to come back and focus on improving his draft position. The potential is there; he just has to realize and show it.

I agree completely, I’m just saying that’s maybe where he’s coming from.

I love Leo and he’s a good LB, not as good as Willie or Errol, but definitely SEC caliber. Would love for him to comeback.

Or maybe it’s just a day to discuss sports and our coaching on what is, after all, an MSU sports message board. I don’t see you personally paying any of our coaches salaries either.

What a difference a few games make. I don’t see anyone bitching about locking Shoop down and paying JoMo $3.5 million. I don’t want to say “I told you so”, but what the hell, “I told you so”.

Because I believe it?

Combine the never ending crap he has taken the past two years with the very large probability that Willie Gay will beat him out of a starting job next year, and I can understand why he might want to move on.

But you didn't say that.

If I remember correctly, you stated that he's "likely" to move on or he "needs" to move on.

That's not your decision & he doesn't "need" to do anything.

It was an awkward comment when you made it.

I don’t know that it will be $3.5 mill, but he’s going to get a modest raise (maybe $500k to put him at $3.2 or so) and an extension, as is customary for every coach that has at least a decent season. People need to check themselves and realize he was still the most successful 1st year MSU coach since McKeen, and he is currently making less than Matt 17ing Luke.

I quit listening to his podcasts when he went south early this year but it’s exactly the kind of thing he would say. If Leo decides its time to move on, it’s certainly his call.
