Market has gone from $1000 down at open to $200 up currently for the day.

US Energy is buying 30 million barrels for our reserve from Domestic suppliers to counter Saudi/Russian oil war.

Well I sold the last of what I intend to sell last night, so things are bound to be turning around.

Too low. That will cause buy outs. Stations will run out. Providers will limit deliveries. Need to try and hold it around $1.49 to $1.89 depending on traffic.

A Kentucky station dropped to 99 cents and sold out. Not sure if they are back in stock, but that could set a dangerous precedent in these unsure time.

I agree. The big metro areas with chain gas stations are controlling the price. As I said yesterday, I filled up at Sam’s for $1.799 in Pearl. Last week I paid $1.88 at a station in Baton Rouge. The traffic can be a two way street I guess. Some will take advantage to control prices “up” and some will look at the high traffic locations as a way to still make money and serve the public with lower prices.

I am in the grocery business. It kind of works the reverse of that. The small town retailers set their prices higher because they have a smaller customer base to profit from and try to survive on $80,000 or less in sales per week. Their customer base is also usually EBT customers. On the other hand, there are at least 7 Kroger locations in metro Jackson that have sales over $1 million per week and other than payroll and local purchases, all that profit goes back to Cincinnati and is put back into the stores. Try buying a cart load of groceries from Kroger without using the loyalty card. Then go buy the same cart load using the loyalty card and see the difference.

My point is, even when supply is good and demand is high, certain entities will charge what their market can bear.

It's 2.08 in North Ms this morning on the way to work, 2.36 for non ethanol. I'm aiming to buy enough non ethanol lawn mower gas to last all summer.

I do really like sub $2 gas, however; it’s probably not the best idea if you really want people to stay home during this outbreak.

If everyone is at the similar price point there won't be a problem. Especially with so many staying home now. I paid $1.39 this week and no issues with crowds/rush.

Bruiser at 10:14am was incorrect.

If ALL gas stations were to drop prices to say the $1.10-$1.20/ gal range they would NOT run out since they would all be in the same range.

Stations are going to keep it jacked up as much as. possible to make larger profits.
Just saying....
