It's sad that MLB sucks at marketing. Mike Trout should be a household name on the level of Lebron or Brady, and every sports fan should be in awe over what Ohtani is doing, but people who aren't big baseball fans barely know him.

Imagine what kind of attention, say, Lamar Jackson would get if in addition to having a great year at QB this fall, he decided to also play cornerback and led the league in interceptions.

…But good grief this guy is incredible.

I remember my first time hearing about this guy. Might have been 60 minutes of all places. Of course, I said, eh, that’s in the Japanese league, he will be good but nothing like that…
glad to see he proved me wrong. Incredible.

Yep, there was a 60 minutes segment on him a good 3-4 years before he signed with the Angels. He gets extension with that swing like nobody’s business. Baseball isn’t supposed to look that easy. To bad he’s on a team that can’t even buy they’re way to playoff birth. They’ve had what, 1 playoff appearance in Mike Trouts whole career. Even Cardinal fans thought that Pujols contract was insane.
