Wisconsin stubbing their toe last few weeks isn’t helping things for OSU. I believe each Big10 team will play on the day of the Big 10 title game. If OSU doesn’t make it, but they were to go up against a highly ranked Wisconsin club, it could almost even out.

Going up against the 2020 Iowa team won’t have the same pop though.

Seems like an easy solution to me, cancel Maryland-Rutgers and make OSU play Maryland this weekend (since that was the game that got cancelled due to OSU’s own COVID outbreak).

The whole thing just stinks though....the B1G will actually be rewarded by how bad they bungled the 2020 season plan after COVID by their best team playing minimal games against other good teams and having half the chances to get beaten vs every other CFP contender. Its literally a joke if they get in even if they play somebody this weekend and in the B1G title game.

Ohio State should play Texas A&M, and no one will complain about the winner going to the playoff.

Come on, SEC and B1G. Make it happen.

This is absolutely what should happen and both teams and conferences should want it. It would basically be a play in game for the college playoff. A&M won't be a conference champ but will have that final big win on it's resume. OSU hasn't really played anybody good and hasn't played enough games for many peoples liking, so beating A&M would be a big resume builder and would hush lots of critics. Both teams probably think they have a shot at the 4th spot anyway, but this would seal it I think. If BYU and Coastal Carolina can throw a game together like that, A&M and OSU can too. The biggest questions would be who plays at home and do they take OSU's 11 am Fox time slot or A&M's 7 pm CBS time slot.

I doubt that one would get approved, but maybe OSU vs Cincy?

I'll also admit I'm biased here, as I've got a degree from IU, and want the Hoosiers in the Big 10 title game.

Why would the SEC or A&M want that (especially when OSU might only have 6 games played and no conference title) when A&M deserves to be in over them? Why throw them a life preserver when they are drowning? Just get A&M another high profile game within the SEC and dare the committee to pass over a 9-1 A&M for a 6-0 B1G team.

I like your thinking, but I suspect the committee would indeed pass over A&M for Ohio State. And all we could be is pissed off like only and SEC fan can be.

They would want it because there is a good chance that Big Ten is going to grant a waiver for OSU to go to the conference championship game even with only 5 games played instead of 6. They will win that easy and you will have a 6-0 conference champion blue blood OSU against an 8-1 A&M fighting for a playoff spot. You think they are going to leave the Big 10 out of the playoff with an undefeated team? The playoff committee already has OSU ranked ahead of A&M. A&M and the SEC could take the chance of them taking A&M over OSU or they could try to guarantee it by setting up the game and having A&M beat OSU. And what "high profile" SEC team would you schedule A&M to play against that they haven't already played? 2 loss Georgia?

Yeah, OSU is ahead now, but things change dramatically if you add potentially 2 more games for A&M and only one more or no more for OSU. But overall its an irrelevant proposal...the B1G won’t do it unless they can’t find a game for OSU this weekend, and they would be stuck with only 5 games. In that scenario there is zero chance they get in over A&M or even over UF who would have played a full schedule or almost full schedule, and no reason for the SEC to help them. If they can get the above to work out, there’s no availability to play A&M. The B1G title game would never factor in, no way they will work through the political shitshow required to backdoor their own rules before a game against A&M could be set up.
