1) Hope it’s nothing too serious with Eugene. With that said, I dont think its a coincidence that there was great ball movement tonight without him out there. Shaq carter is either a quick finisher at the rim or he immediately moves the ball out.

2) Shaq Carter is a beast. Finishing underneath hes a technician! Rebounding, great. Foul shooting, great. Moving the ball, great. Setting picks, great. Did he come off the court for more than 2 minutes in the 2nd half? GREAT game.

3) Geo played like a mad man. Luther muhammad is going to be 1st team all freshman and 1st team all defense B1G and Geo played lights out. Just a GREAT performance by him. ONIONS with that last shot.

4) Montez is gaining so much confidence and Harper is also looking more and more confident out there. These kids both need to play 30 and 25 minutes a night respectively.

5) Feel bad for kiss but the team is better with those two above taking those minutes. Also Issa’s minutes seemed to be slashed tonight, issa still hasnt hit a FG since Fordham. Cutting down the bench is the move going forward. Harper, mathis, mcconnell and shaq c need to play a ton of minutes

Stop trying to get back at your freshman prediction for Omoruyi. Dude is still the best player on the team. Glad the rookies stepped up but you’ll never get your prediction back my friend. Stop trying to backhand insult him

Completely nailed it. I would also add how good Mathis and Harper look in transition and that we should always be looking to push especially since we do tend to struggle in general in the half court. This includes secondary breaks when the defense still isn't set. Mathis can draw fouls that way and Harper can weasel his way to the basket

So we're looking at a rotation of Baker, Mathis, Harper, Doorson, Omoruyi, McConnell, Johnson, and Carter. If Omoruyi is out for extended time, then maybe Kiss and Issa steal a few of those minutes? I still think most of those minutes go to the other 7 seven in the rotation.

Either Pike needs to play more minutes with 2 of Shaq shaq Carter and Myles on the court or Thiam/Kiss would seem to see some more minutes with Harper playing the 4. Unless we see a lot of McoConnell Geo Mathis Harper + Big

McConnell Geo Mathis Harper Carter is out best offensive lineup. I don't know if we have seen that combo but I would like to especially against a smaller team

Baker really earned those 15 points tonight. He was being absolutely HOUNDED by Muhammad.

Yeah, Carter really can finish down low. Just has a knack for smoothly getting the ball up to the rim, and unlike Freeman, the ball goes in more often than not.

Mathis was MVP tonight. Four HUGE buckets in the 2nd half, including those two dribble drives in the last 1:30 of the game to give us the lead.

Doorson did a darn good job on Wesson, who had a "quiet" 18 points. It was like two heavyweight boxers, and Shaq won a few "rounds" with 3 blocks plus a handful of other possessions in which he kind of "stoned" Wesson and caused errant shots, including one airball from about 8 feet.

15-20 FTs. Nuff said.

Harper is soooo close to breaking out. Granted, he had an inefficient 12 points (going 3-11), but he's getting good looks, hit two 3s tonight, and damn he's good running the break in the open floor. Once he learns to get more arc on his outside shot, and they start going in, he can be a 15 ppg guy in this league because he's also big enough to slash and score inside.

Liked the way we mixed in zone with our long wing players really stifling OSU at times. But we need to do a better job of rebounding. OSU got too many offensive rebounds in the 2nd half, mostly when we were playing zone.

Just a tremendous game. So fun to watch the freshman grow up as well as seeing the big guys get involved. Was thinking how this experience for the frosh will be huge for next year and beyond.

Next year, I think Pike will have so much flexibility with his potential lineup and could see him playing a 3 guard rotation, with Eugene and Myles/Carter often. He will have a lot of options with Geo, Mathis, Young, McConnell, Mulcahy and Harper to play the 1,2 and 3

Luther Muhammad was the best player on the court.
Yup, if pike could clone him, hed be pikes ideal player. Has offensive game, can shoot and is an INSANELY GREAT defender. So so so impressive how well Geo did considering how well Luther d’d up

Muhammad has improved his shooting quickly...i know HS to college is tough to project, but Muhammad looks the part of a pain in the neck defender and knocked down shots.

I think (know) that Carter played strong but he had 2 costly turnovers when he got doubled on baseline and in the post. Once he gets more comfortable with the team, he'll make better passes and the ball will find the open shooters. Not saying the shots will be made but we played a solid game for 40 minutes.

I think the rotation and what took place will accelerate the learning curve. Harper, Mathis, McConnell and Carter now have to play more, which will be bumpy but force some workload around a bit.

I think you will see a revitalized Peter Kiss in the next couple of weeks. He will get hungrier again and will add some scoring off the bench. Once he gets settled in the instant offense, play tougher defense for shorter bursts, he will help out.

All of the frosh looked good. Would like to see more of Kiss and less of Thiam. Nice to see all of our big men getting more involved and scoring. Can't wait to see what next season brings. Breakout year?
