Watching that, it looks like the refs technically did get the call right when they picked up the flag for facemask/horsecollar on Costello on the 3rd down play in the 1st quarter. He grabbed him by the back of the helmet, which isn't a penalty, even though it should be.

I watched it again this afternoon.

I almost threw up when they tied it at 34.

I told a buddy of mine something similar today....you know you're a Mississippi State fan when you get nervous watching a replay of a game you already know you won.

Actually, it was a penalty and they did get it wrong. If you “grasp, pull, or turn” the helmet at all, it’s consideded a facemask penalty. The facemask is just the easiest place to grab so thats why you rarely see it called for something like in our game. Now, with that being said, the refs should know the rules better than that.

Yes. Hard to complain about the 3 yards. Could have been a pick and he caught his one and only pass, fingers crossed.
