As of one hour ago, Joe Lunardi has released his latest MARCH MADNESS field, and there in as one of the number 6 seeds, is....

the Nebraska Cornhuskers.....

Which leads to my inevitable questions:
-Am I just a hater?
-Can ANYONE be a bracketologist?

It's because we are still 14th in the NET Rankings, which are the only rankings that matter for the NCAA touranament.

I still think in the end, we'll be lucky to make the tournament. There are 15 more conference games to go.

Realistically we only need to win maybe 6 or 7 more games to get in the dance. I think we'll be on the bubble

With the next 4 games coming up, if we go 2-2 I think we have a good chance to make it. Still not a Miles fan, but still waiting to see if we can make it happen.

Like I said I really like the guy but if he can’t get us in the dance and win a game I no longer see a future with Miles starting after this season with all the best players he has had on this team...

Not sure I see 7 more wins on the schedule. We'll have to beat somebody on the road because I don't see us beating MSU at home, and I can see us losing a few more at home as well. There's not an easy conference game on the schedule this year.

I know there is more to it than this but basically a 6 seed means you are in the 24-28 range. That isn't that much of a stretch. One bounce our way in Maryland and that's another quad 1 win. Not too much of a stretch to see what the people "outside" of the program see. I just have too many years of, here we go again...

NU has quite a few good quality wins, and no bad losses (yet). The schedule strength is much tougher this year, which has helped elevate us in the computer rankings. It would be a stretch, but we might get into the NCAAs this year with 18-19 wins whereas last year 23 wins wasn't enough. This year the B1G won't hurt us.

That gets us to 18 which I think probably gets us in as maybe a 9 or 10 seed. Probably need to win a game in the B1G tourney and we should be okay. Gonna be a tough road we certainly need to play well down the stretch to beat anybody. Like you said no easy games.

Miles is a solid coach, good recruiter. UNL arguably one of the worst b-ball programs of all time. A shiny new area comes and expectations increase, it is what it is. We’ll make the tourney and I think win round one.

What has to happen for Miles to barely keep his job at the end of the year and make everyone here SUPER DOOPER HAPPY about it?

Just gotta play with a little more intensity and urgency than we did (Roby exception) against PSU. Unless, of course, the flu was a major factor...like making Palmer take a really dumb, well-contested, and early three-point attempt late in the game, when we were ahead by a handful...:eek:
