One of the worst officiated games I've seen on both sides. Equally terrible for both teams. Some of the softest foul calls I've ever seen.
Agreed never seen something as bad as this, so so so bad

Fouls were 23-19 when we started fouling at the end and we had more FT attempts at that point. Quit whining about the refs - thought they were decent and were not why we lost. We lost because Gettys played, by far, his worst game and we had too many unforced TOs. Plus SHU is a damn good team that really cranked up the D in the 2nd half, making it hard for us to get good shots off.

Strike that -- Nigel Johnson not going to the line with about two minutes left when he was knocked to the ground on the drive was the worst call
If you are referring to the play that led to the SHU fast break, I agree. We simply couldn't play D that half. I saw 1 series that had 3 fouls called against RU on four possessions (2 for each team). That's a joke. There were too many soft calls. Guys stop playing D when that happens.

You know when the announcers are commenting on how the refs have a tough job and that the refs are doing a good job, that means they think it is pretty obvious that the refs are doing a terrible job, but they want to diffuse fan reactions.
This 100%

It's the calls they didn't make that hurt too. Not saying it cost us the game because Delgado was simply too good for Gettys and our backups not ready for such a top talented veteran. Better team won tonight, but final score not indicative of the difference.

We were surrounded by shu fans and they were even saying it was the worst officiating job they had seen.

unbelievable how bad those officials were.. well, not "bad" as much as purposefully calling the game in SHU's favor. And worse, it looks like SHU players are coached to give those refs the opportunity to make calls in their favor. The acting those SHU players were doing is ridiculous. Usual you see 1 or 2 guys on a team that throw the head back and always look to generate calls.. the entire SHU team does it.

That was awful.. criminal I'd bet...

please do not blame officiating for the loss...yes it was poor but RU also committed some bad fouls tonight.

Like clockwork.

Always have to defend the refs, don't you?

Most people are not claiming we lost because of the refs.
But my word, we definitely were jobbed much more than SHU.

And to be honest, down by 4 with 3 minutes left, a "neutral" ref crew makes this game go down to the wire.

No doubt we crumbled a bit, but there were some REALLY bad calls (phantom touch fouls).

I sat on the floor, baseline in the 2nd row behind the dance team. In the first half, 2-3 balls went off of a SHU player and the ref gave them the ball. We we were right there and it was clear to us who poked the ball out of bounds. Add to that 3-4 hacks (1st half right in front of me) under the basket that were not called.

Cost us about 6 free throws and 3 possessions in the first half alone.

Officiating isn't about the number of fouls called per team. It's about what they call and don't. If they went to the basket, it was automatically a foul. If RU did, it was 50/50. The flopping by their players was comical. I thought Carington was a tough NYC kid? Good player but weak as hell.

I agree with all that the refs didn't decide the game, but they had a huge influence.

SHOE is a better team, but I'm still waiting for a game in which the reffing clearly goes in our favor in a win. Been a LONG time since we've gotten the benefit and I can think of plenty where we get hosed beyond belief.

Not blaming the refs but had to laugh at Delgado's soccer flop. Our player barely had his hand on Delgado under the basket, Delgado went down like he was shot and got the call.

28 FT's in a road game-----look back at the end of the year and notice how many times that happens.

That was a homer job. RU was hosed. Officiating like that completely turns the course of a game & those bums know that.

If anyone noticed in the beginning of the game, first qtr or so, they let them play, and became very physical under the rim. I believe that it was known, that for RU to win Delgado would have to get into foul trouble, so they didn't call anything. Going into the 2nd qtr the foul calls increased, with RU getting an advantage at the foul line, then converting. This hurt the Hall.
The second half was called completely in favor of the Hall, it was purely pathetic, and very unprofessional from the Refs. The calls came often, but especially when RU started to get momentum. The refs were Big East. It was so bad, that if I was coaching that team, would have called time out to address the matter. But, I can also see the consequence to such action.
One thing is having a home advantage because of the arena, and fans, but when the Refs. influence the outcome, then it becomes a problem.
Seton Hall was the better team(mostly because of the center position), but our team deserved an equal chance to perform. And, they didn't get it.
I believe that Refs should be hired by the NCAA, and not by the Conferences. It would at least slow down, if not stop all the bickering among fans. Like me.

You're right Knight. The second half is when the screw job began in earnest. I don't think our coach should take that sh*t lying down during a game.
