Officiating made a major difference

The no-facemask call in the third quarter, a clear holding penalty that wasn't called when Tua scrambled for a first down on Bama's first scoring drive...those missed calls made a huge difference. I've never seen a game so completely one-sided since NU-FSU in the 94 Orange Bowl.

Then you couldn't have watched the aTm game. It was our Big 12 going away present.

The off sides call against Georgia on the punt to start the third quarter was big. Bama clearly had two men moving before the snap.

On the punt block, even though he started early because of movement by Alabama, he wasn't even offsides. That's guaranteed points missed out on. The no PF pushing of the helmet on the QB, it should have been first down at the 24 and most likely points with their kicker or even a TD. The other penalties weren't as big of an impact but most definitely favored Alabama. About the only call I remember going Alabama's way was the TD reception where Georgia's WRs foot was touching the DB while he was laying out of bounds but even then im not sure what that ruling is since its pretty uncommon. He definitely didn't step out like some thought. It was a great game but sickening that 2 blown calls directly affected the outcome.

I was rooting for Georgia and they were definitely on the wrong end of some calls. But Georgia’s offense couldn’t get out of its own way for nearly the entire second half, or in OT. Hard to win a championship game that way.

Fromm was not very good after the first half. It seemed like he regressed as the game wore on.

In total at least 4 or 5 calls all went Alabama’s way making them more impactful in the final result. If Georgia gets a few calls to go their way it could have been the difference in a W versus a L.

It really is sad when officiating swings a game. It is doubly bad in a big game. Big 10 refs with another terribly called game.

Just once I’d like to see the officials stop keeping games from turning out the way I want. I have yet to see a loss that couldn’t be blamed on the officials. It’s like it never happens.

#77 on the Bama OL was practically tackling defenders on numerous plays and I never once saw a holding call. It was hard to watch.

Or their play calling got worse. And Bama did what they always do. Make adjustments and WIN!! No other coach would have done what Saban did. Simply an amazing coach and arguably the best dynasty ever.

jorja refused to give the ball to their best player. they preferred chubb getting 1 yard at a time instead of 5 from Sony. never seen anything so bizarre.

Yes, just like every game, calls were missed. Probably the biggest was the off side on the block punt. However, it was Georgia that regressed in the second half or did Alabama just lift up it's game. Reminded me a lot of last year's Super Bowl. Just like most, I was cheering for the underdog. Great championship game.
