If you go to Huskers.com and go to the Recruits tab you can see areas that the recruits are exposed to. I'm guessing, but I assume they spend time with a nutrition counselor who outlines how their program will work, how meals are served, how they can "cheat" with coupons to dine free at various Lincoln restaurants, etc. They probably talk to someone from Life Skills, someone from the department they want to major in, get fitted for their Adidas bling. They probably have an hour-long presentation about the university, have another feel good pitch from a young entrepreneur or somebody like that. I have heard recruits have done a community service thing like children in the hospital. Then they have a host and hang out with some of the guys in the evenings. Bottom line, I think the visits are very organized, geared a lot toward the parents, and are busy with little standing around.
As far as sports, there was a wrestling match at Devaney last night that had 4500 people there and a women's bb game today (which they lost). So yeah, maybe not as crazy as a football or men's BB game, but they get the idea sports are pretty important here.
