I'm excited to see what Hecklinski can do, he has those Drew Tate intangibles. Cool, confident, quick release. Can also take off running when needed.
Correct, but the ultimate situation is a very good to great starting dual threat qb (grono could have been that except for the occasional errant pass, he was very good not great} and then an above avg backup qb and a decent up and coming 3rd stringer

I fully agree with this, but with this kid that's not the ultimate situation, he had his scholly dropped for dropping an n-bomb on social media, this is the last look the hawks need at this point.

So Iowa is reportedly in contact with former Florida reject, current western Florida qb Marcus Stokes.
Isn't he that one recruit who said the N word and it went viral? If so, I don't know how good of a look it would be especially with our past around racism..

We dont have a "past" quit perpetuating that bulls**t. You want to talk about a "past" ask minnesota why Floyd of Roaedale exists and hammer on them for awhile.

I believe Minnesota is also the reason Jack Trice stadium is so named.

I'm still amazed how Seth Anderson disappeared after the Umass game. I always felt like he had potential, suffered injuries, but thought this would be his best year.

WR didn't take much of a step forward this year and two receivers, Phillips & Gill, are both out of eligibility. We brought in a couple of recruits last year, and a couple more this year, but they are all young and unproven. Portal here we come!

Could we use someone called "Chops" as a DT?

Purdue defensive tackle Jamarrion “Chops” Harkless is expected to enter the transfer portal. The new was first reported by Chris Hummer of 247 Sports per Harkless’ agency, Ethos Sports Group.

Harkless started all 12 games for Purdue in 2025 after appearing in 10 games as a redshirt freshman in 2024. He totaled 19 tackles, including 2.5 sacks, during his time as a Boilermaker.

He becomes the first Purdue starter to announce his intention to enter the transfer portal, which opens on Jan. 2.

I missed this reply, are you saying Hecklinski did the N-bomb on social media? if not him then who are you referring to?

There are a lot of receivers right out of high school who are ready made starters. They are all over the place but none come to Iowa as freshman, guys like J Smith at Ohio St and maybe 10-15 a year doing great as freshman. Of course most or many of them live on the coasts and down south where they can run patterns all year long with the friends and QB buddies to throw to them. Those players go to USC, ORegon, SEC teams, etc etc,

Iowa will have to prove we have a top QB who is going to throw a great ball 30 or so times a game to get any guys like this. Lazzard is one of few from Iowa in a long time.

PORTAL-OUT players ... end of regular season

Tulane (in the playoffs)
Pascuzzi - catches 11 for 150 - 1TD
Sully - 19-29 - 222yds - 2TDs/2int - 139 RTG

WA (8-4) Thompson - 27 tackles - 1.5 sacks - 2 PD - would've been an asset

BAMA (playoffs) Proctor - I hope his NFL career is short

Minny (7-5) Nestor - 47 tackles - 6 PD - 5 int - 1 TD - 1 FR. He was the team leader in several categories. One of dozens of studs KF chased off to his own detriment.

San Diego State (9-3, in Spanish it mean's "a whale's fagina") Bostick - catches 11-157 ... 3TDs

Central Mich (7-5) Brenden 23 tackles - 4PD - 2 int ... Vanwetzinga - DL - 8 tackles

New Mexico (9-3) Keegan Michael-Key ... lead his team with 57 catches - 730yds - 3 TDs - 2 rushes for 9 yds ... not quite the Charlie Jones debacle, but pretty bad

Kansas (5-7) - LeeShonn Williams - lead the RBs in TDs and YPC. 97 for 560 - 7 TDs - 5.8 avg

Central Michigan (7-5) Labas - 1676yds - 69% completion rate - 12 TDs/6 int - 161 RTG ... 45 rushes for -4 yds. Better than Grownk? Up for debate.

Nicholls (4-8) The Deuce: 1046yds - 61% completion rate - 4 TDs/5 ints - 107 RTG

I'm sure I'm missing some. Post em if ya got em.

Are the conversations being had yet this week in Iowa City so kids know where they stand so they can decide whether to jump or not?
